OMG... I just registered here. I usually stay on another forum and have only heard of a couple cases of the leaking issue. I had no idea there are all kinds of people having a problems. Now I'm scared to get mine wet. Even though I haven't tested mine yet should I contact Garret about a fix?

Its supposed to be waterproof so you should not be scared to get it wet. Yes there is a problem with some units but there is no recall so the problem is not that bad. There is nothing for Garrett to fix unless it breaks so unnecessary to contact them.

wel...ultimatley it would have went back to the factory anyways Right?

hmm...dont know what to say on that one.....mine is less than 3wks old?

3 weeks...2 months....its not even been on the market a years so everyone should be treated the same.

Actually only 3 weeks old your dealer should have just replaced it for you.

Im just wondering something.......Out of those who have posted on this subject......who has either owned or ran a multi million $$ company ?

I have!

Why is that important? Are you saying your a millionaire? If you are good for you, but what's the reason your asking? Not all million dollar company's are run the same, so what's your point in posting this? Are you running it now? If not, why not? Let's ask this question from a different perspective. How many of us have never owned or run a million dollar company? How many of us are average blue collar Joe's that are working our butts off just to get by? Or how many of us are layed off of work and barely surviving?
This isn't a who's who forum, let's all compare our lifestyle or past forum. We are all equal here and I see no resumes needed to qualify posting our concerns. And whatever you've done in the past means nothing now. It's how you face the future. Happy Trails to All, Woodstock

I have 3 Garretts but mostly use my E-Trac. Maybe I'll buy an AT Pro next fall. As to running a multi-million dollar company, too many problems for the customers can result in said company descending to a zero dollar company.

If you have a problem with your ATP...contact the company. Don't sit here and make suggestion based on no business experience as to issuing a recall . I'm actually a former business owner and yes....multi millions. What I am now is no concern of yours! The bottom line is....dont spew your crap all over the net and not have a clue as to WTH you are talking about. Take care of your own ATP and let the rest of us deal with ours. This forum isn't exactly the place for us to run Garrett's business. I think we are discussing a problem with the unit.a damn good unit at that. And it doesn't seem to be a disasterouse problem for the hand full who have the problem at hand. Im not happy with my unit's problem....but having ran a business...i do understand that these things happen. I dont give a crap if you buy the most expensive item "said to be the best"........there is always problems. Recalls are issued for mainly for possible safety and life threatening situations......this is not one of them. Again..call Garrett!!.....deal with it!

Yes...but let the dealer deal with the factory...meanwhile you have a new AT Pro in hand and are back in business. A local dealer who I wish I had ended up purchasing from does exactly that...if under 30 days old...he just exchanges the unit. Instead though I chose to save a few (and I mean just a few) dollars and buy from XYZ company...worst mistake I could have made....never will purchase anything from them again.

Yes...its great to buy from a local dealer......many of us live in the backwoods...lol and there are no dealers in the area. So dont feel too bad for ordering online if you did:)

wayupnorth ~ I never had a problem with my AT Pro and I was suggesting that if there where so many issues with them it might be in Garretts best interest to have them all sent back. I know that that would never happen and it seems that you were the only one with an issue over what I said. And I could give a rat's butt what you are now but acting like an butt seams to be your new business. You accuse me of running my mouth but it's you that seems to be. Hey listen to me..I know more than everyone cause I ran a big business and to that I say "big deal ~ so what". Go ahead and brag about yourself and all your success. I just think you where belittling all of us and you were. You carried it from your complaint to something very different. Reply to this anyway you want but I'm out of this thread. Don't forget to say hi to Donald cause I sure you know him too. Woodstock
