Water proof plug?

I got my used ctx 3030 today and I am wondering how to hook up the yellow headphones. Do I take the protective plate off above the battery compartment? If so After I lpug the headphones in there is another holes still visible do i need to cover this? If so with what? I might be missing this piece I do not see anything to fit inside of it.
 
I re read this I am not sure that I am making any since... After I plug in my water proof headphones there is another hole beside it. Is there a cap or something that goes over it over do I just leave it as is?
