Well it's almost 4:30 and I need to be at work by 5:00...so I'll have to make this post a short one. I didn't get to hunt last weekend because the weather was too cold for me...yes I turned into a putz after the previous week of 70 degree temps.:crylol:
Anyway I headed out of town today to hunt...but couldn't hit my favorite park because they have the Christmas lights up...so you aren't allowed in until after dusk.
I met up with Deeponedge and we fought the rain pretty much all day. I did get quite a few goodies..but along with that I also got a nasty head cold. :smoke:
Darrell kept whining all day about being wet and cold:rofl:...and that his machine was getting water on it. I did the manly thing...and taped a plastic bag around my SE housing and probe box.:bouncy: Because of that...I ended up hunting all by sound today. I couldn't see the screen...so I had no choice.:clapping:
The highlight of the day was the 1912S Barber dime down over 9"...maybe closer to 10". I really am not sure because of all the mud and water that kept sliding back into the hole once I got down to 9". I had been over this spot before a couple of weeks ago...but this time I gridded it from another direction. The Barber gave a muffled warbly silver sound...but it was blended in with some other jibberish. Even with my gain at 10...this still sounded like a very deep target:thumbup:..so I began digging in the muck.
After reaching 8"...out popped an old style pulltab. Well I was cold...wet...muddy...and now ticked off.:veryangry: As always...I ran the probe one more time and was kindly rewarded with a screamer another 2" or so down. I scraped some more muck out of the hole as the water poured back in...and saw the glint of silver.:thumbup:Out popped the 1912s Barber dime.
All in all a nice day...but I seriously have a nasty head cold now. :stars:
I'm supposed to meet up with Coin Magnet and a couple of his buddies this weekend at one of their parks. He told me there have been some incredible coins come out of there in the last 15 years or so...but that it was probably the most pounded park I would ever hunt...so we'll see what happens.:super: As long as I'm swingin' the coil...I don't care if I find anything or not. It's all about the fun and peace I feel once the headphones go on. Good luck on your next hunt...and thanks for viewing.

Sure hope your feeling better so we can see the goodies when you hit it with Coin Magnet next weekend . 15 years of a park producing oldies sounds exciting and fun. Good luck to you as these finds are nothing but, as Tony the Tiger says, Greaaaaaaaaaaaat

get light headed when I blow my nose:stars:
I'm going to dump down a ton of cold medicine in the next couple of days so hopefully I can hunt this weekend:bouncy:

turned me into a wimp and really spoiled me. Last week I hunted in a tank top...and today I hunted in a Winter coat and got soaking wet. Probably not very smart...but it was fun:rolleyes:

left...and luck is on my side that day. Actually I hope the weather is halfway decent. I first heard it was supposed to be near 50 degrees...but now somebody told me it might snow:thumbdown: I've never hunted the park he is taking me to...but he said it is probably the most pounded park I'll ever hunt. I seriously don't care if I find anything or not. Of course I hope I do...but I know I'll have fun either way. Take care buddy.

forward to this weekend...but I hope the weather cooperates. If not...and my head isn't poundin'....I'm huntin' anyway:biggrin:
Good luck on your next hunt...and I'm glad the SE is starting to really click for you. Take care buddy.

Rain??? What's that stuff? Oh yeah.... I think I remember what it is. :spin:

I always look forward to seeing your finds Bryce. I'll get wet and muddy any day for a Barber. Thanks for sticking it out so we can enjoy the photos.

Look at it this way, you'd have gotten the cold anyway, so you may as well have enjoyed what you were doing anyway. Right?
Nice finds and hope you do good with the CoinMagnet's park.

Tony

Sorry the cold got the best of ya buddy. Tell us a little about the finds on the right. Sometimes I like the ring finds better than coins.

Fantastic Finds Bryce , Silver , Injuns and a Cool cap gun :clapping:
Looks like a Roy Rogers , Nice. Sorry to hear about the nasty head cold,
get some rest

Terri

Good to see you got out again and made more great finds to add to your collection.

Sorry to hear about the Head Cold! I've been battling some Cold Weather myself the last few days and have frozen my 2 middle fingers on my right hand just to be able to get out and keep swinging. Temp's have been in the 30's...some days with a light breeze making it that much worse and a few Snow Flurries to add to the mix, but I keep plugging away like the Energizer Bunny. I also wish it would warm up just a bit more so it would be a bit more pleasant to hunt but I guess we have to take what we can.

WTG with yet another good days hunt! Congrats on the Barber Dime also. That Toy Gun is definitely a Roy Rogers Pistol and a great find in itself buddy! Also, I have included a Pic of your USN Ring you found. It tells you the date of it and value. I am sure it has gone up in value since my book is way out of date but none the less, you have the info on it and you know what you have.

Also, when you get time....what is that item in your Misc Pic in the middle on the top row? Looks like a neat item.

Hope your feeling much better and hope your able to get out with Coinmagnet and see if you can't pull some Oldies from that Park. Good Luck and HH Bryce![attachment 110419 USNRing.jpg]

Nice collection there Bryce.:clapping: That toy gun is pretty neat, but the silver coins are neater.:please: Hope you get to feeling better real soon. I just got my flu shot the other day. Got one last year and didn't get the flu or a cold either so maybe it will keep me well again this flu season. Take care and HH on your next outing.

Eddie

has an air hose stuck in each of my nostrils...and my ears are plugged shut:stars:
Oh well...each day will hopefully be better...and if not...I'm huntin' this weekend anyway as long as the weather allows.
Take care Eddie...and i hope you pop some deepies out on your next hunt.

the rings...and sure enough...mine is the one in the top left of the pic. My head is a poundin' today...and I've got enough cold medicine jammed in me to tranquilize a horse:surrender:
That little item you asked about is one I can't quite make out what it is. The bottom words I can make out are..."J.A. Case"...then underneath that it says P.K.O. or something like that...then the word "works" next to those letters.
Thanks for rsponding with the ring info...and good luck getting some cold weather huntin' in my friend. Take care James
