Weekend Hunt - Rescued another first!

Hey Everyone:

I hope you had a terrific weekend. Here in northeast Ohio...we just can't seem to get a bad day. However, I wouldn't mind some rain due to the dry ground conditions.

I found it funny that SooperDave responded to my last post about what was next on my "bucket list" of coins to find since I finally found a large cent recently and my first SLQ. When I read that, I immediatley thought about the Barber quarter in addition to some other coins I've yet to find.

This past weekend, Rob and I didn't have a lot of luck finding lots of goodies but we still had fun on our adventures. Although, Rob did find a beautiful 925 huge silver bracelet and a 1950 Rosie. I don't know about most of you, but for some reason I typically find stuff as I am walking the "mopey I didn't find anything good" strut to the car. As I got within 20 feet to my car, I got a decent high pitched signal that actually stuck and didn't turn into 24:46. I hate that number!! I was getting a very good 12:46 at decent depth and I thought...cool probably a Washington quarter. WRONG and boy am I glad. A very worn down, silver, dateless Barber quarter reared its pretty head. YAY YAY YAY!!! Another first for me!! Thanks SooperDave...ha ha. I can't remember who said this but they were right when they said...for some reason some of the things you have been searching for just seem to start rolling in. I'm not sure that's going to continue but 3 firsts in less than a month. I would have never guessed. ha ha.

Now....next on my list: Barber half, seated half, seated quarter, any silver dollar, flying eagle, 20 cent piece, shield or V nickel, and any 1700's coin or Spanish reale... just to name some. ha ha..I'm not asking for much am I? Thanks everyone for all your responses, encourgament, and kind words. Rob and I enjoy this forum very much and all of you are the reason why.

Have a wonderful week and as always...HAPPY HUNTING!!

Congrats. Good thing is living in Ohio, those on the list are not out of the question. Good luck on your hunt.

Love the shot of Rocky, I can hear the song playing now... "Gonna Fly Now" !

You're on a roll! Congrats on that elusive Barber Quarter! You have made some Awesome First Finds this year! I share the same excitement you have for this one. I wanted to find my first Barber Quarter so bad this year. Every time I went out I would say to myself is this the place I will find it, so when I finally did find it last month, I about jumped out of my shoes with excitement! :bouncy:

It's so much fun to find these old coins that got lost years ago! Good luck to you two & Keep the streak alive!

Congratulations to ya Betty! Worn or not, its always fun to find a first! Thanks for the pictures.

Very nice - congrats !

Congratulations on another coin off the bucket list! Everything on your list above is no mine except for the V-nickel.

I hope you keep hammering away at reducing your list. With the ground as hard as it is here in SC, you have to hammer to get anything!

Congrats on the firsts! Keep at it , my first 1700's coin didn't come for years, and it came from a spot that I'd been hunting for 14 years. Somehow, my coil just got over it as well as a Vermont button. It was the nicest CWar button I'd found there, too. They were just ten feet from each other.

Congrats on yet another first! Big silver is hard to come by but you hit the jackpot. I had a first myself today, a George II farthing, dateless, but was minted from 1727-1760. Keep hitting your sites hard, and try to get on some old private properties for the 1700's coins.
