so I was hoping for some big silver, specifically a half or silver dollar, both denominations that continue to elude me with the Safari. But when I went into pin-point mode and lowered the coil, the response was larger than a coin (silver coin spill ?). Cut a hinge plug, removed a couple trowels of dirt. Broke out the GPP and pinpointed at just 4-5 inches, I retrieved a vintage 45 cal cap toy gun, which I haven't seen in over 40 yrs. Also found what I thought was a copper arrowhead, but isn't. A couple of other hunts found '36 & '39 mercs (tid 38-39) and a well preserved skeleton key (tid 37). Stats: relic mode, low density. Thanks for viewing.

That kind of find (the capgun) really gets amped up. I love the odd stuff.
What do you figure the arrowhead thingy is?
I'm guessing you were hunting an old homesite...?
Thanks for posting!

Thanks KinTN. According to historicaerials.com, looks like the site was farmland/homestead prior to 1957 before the elementary school was built. The gun was towards the back tree line. I may clean up the picture and post over on the whatzit forum as it doesn't appear to me to be snapped off at the base. Was thinking some kind of turn-key thingy..

Ken, absolutely awesome finds. I love the cap gun and the key, both in excellent condition. I rarely dig targets bigger than a coin, maybe I should. HH, Dave

Awsome finds.Love that 1897 tag ,Looks like a key tag .Could be be more cool stuff there.I just found a key like that also.Sometimes the relics are as cool as the coins , HH

Great finds Ken! Love the cap gun. Looks like a good site to keep hitting!
