Well, let's end this and get it all out and with any luck get back to what this forum .........

And believe me I know exactly where we are when it comes to what direction this country is headed in if Barrack Obama is re-elected. And quite frankly, the recent group of people that call themselves Republican contenders leaves me severly wanting for a second coming of Ronald Reagan. I'd take a dead Ronald Reagan over ANY of the folks that were at the last debate (if that is what that really was!).

I just do not come to the Friends and Finds Forum to discuss it. I cannot make that any clearer to you or anyone else.

The Views Forum is exactly where your political posts need to be. And there are hardly THAT MANY liberals on the Views Forum. You'd be in better company there with your political posts than you really know Sir.

and I think it would hurt the forum more than a few political views. I was sorry to see Keeley leave, but I don't think anyone ever got personal with her about their conservative beliefs. If I see one of Vern's post leaning more to the right than I want to participate in, I move to the next post. The same with any other topic I might not be interested in.
Maybe we should put a Capital P ( or some icon ) in front of any post that may be deemed political and just let it go at that.

.... our totally mis-managed government starting with local city's right up through our US congress and senate. Because of all these politicians, all party's, and independents as well, are there only to feather their own nests. Any one who seriously thinks things are being correctly managed both now and in the past by our President(s), and our complete congress and senate need to leave la la land and wake up.

All of us "peons" are darn sick and tired of it and are doing everything possible (including Internet forums) to communicate / wake folks up (family and friends) to the need for a total house cleaning of every elected official that does not reduce expenses and taxes as well. Our economy has tanked, folks are making less due to inflation or replacing a prior job with one that pays less. Others have lost employment and are struggling. This is frustrating and it's showing up more and more here on our forum and in the editorial comments in newspapers. Once we clean house of the tax / spend / regulate officials, the economy will turn around and fewer political posts will be seen on this and other forums.

I enjoy reading some thoughtful political comments. I don't enjoy reading other not so thoughtful political comments. I don't even bother opening posts of some folks and choose to just not respond to others.

As for folks leaving the forum, most folks I know that have left were because they were bullied by a forum poster for voicing disagreement to a post. As for those that want to post a political comment, perhaps the governor or one of our mighty moderators might make a political post icon to use to warn those that don't want to read those posts.

Might want to make a "bad photo edit" icon available too. I'll certainly be using that one. Also icons for fishing posts and for cooking posts and shooting harmless turtle posts icons ... :help: And perhaps one for Cajuns without spell checkers!

The only problem I have is day in and day out no matter where you go, what you listen to and what you see has to do with politics now days. Dems this, Republicans that, prego this, cheating that, on and on. I get soooooo sick of hearing it, seeing it when I get up, eat lunch at work and when I go to bed, it makes me sick. This world has changed and it sucks. I will not fall into this trap like others have. I just wish we could go back to the old way it used to be on this forum minus the politics. Vern I have never laughed so had and had tears rolling down my eyes more than when you posted your lawnmower story. The vision of you doing this will be stuck in my head til the day I die. Thats the kind of stuff we need on here. It's so much more enlightening than politics. There's nothing more negative than politics. The only political thing I want to hear next is that Obama is no longer President (and I did NOT vote for him). We just need more positive and funny things to be posted. Thats how I feel on this. Now post your lawnmower story so I can have my daily laugh.
