Well life rolls on

Alright, I know I am late to the party and a brand new forum member, but I must say it was the the Tesoro detectors a year and a half ago that got me interested in the hobby. I'm in my mid 30s, and was looking for a detector. I wanted to spring for an AT pro, but after seeing some tests against a few other detectors, I decided the vaquero was what I wanted. A black vaquero at that. Well, I sprung for a new Mojave due to the great entry price. Just 8 months ago, I found a new black vaquero for less than what I paid for the mojave!
To sum it up, I'm new at this, young, and did not want a machine telling me what is in the ground by a number. My experience with this machine is limited, but I will not part with it. I would rather listen to what is in the ground and decide for myself than to look at a number with some audio feedback. I know I will buy something else in the future, but warranty or not, I'm glad I purchased these two.
How you liking it now ?

CJM, as one of my heroes said " never, never, never give up." I'm in my middle '80's and still try to get out daily. Can't give up 'till they pry it from my cold, cold hands. Among other things! Yesterday I was only 50. Still can't figure how I made the '80's so quick.
Hey Wild one. Where's you at ???

The vista X actually has a functioning pinpoint ,not so with the vaquero, cibola etc. Why tesoro never addressed the pinpoint feature on they're machines is beyond me. I use pinpoint to size a target, and get a idea on what it could be. Can't do that accurately with tesoro, they go in and out of pinpoint instead of holding true.Sure I could flip to all metal but who wants to do that for the whole hunt on every target.
I thought the Bandido 2 umax pinpoints very well.

Cut previous post short to go watch the F1 race .... Now I'll add that the Whites XL Pro I have is very verbal with its single tone. Beep and dig with a meter, but you will virtually never dig a bottle cap with it since the tone has a unique sparkling sound off on bottle caps. The only unfortunate thing about that sound signature is that harmonica reeds sound very similar; so you need to be aware of the area and what you are looking for before you totally ignore that sound signature on this beep and dig. Don't know if the other Whites of the time had that unique sound on multiple sharp edges or not as I did not have others.
My Old MXT had nice sounds like that
Those confidence blocks were nice too.

Do birds get old? Well depends on what kind & where they live just like human beings! Some of us live to be old BUT others don't while a few live to be past 100 --now that is long life in this silful & corrupted world! We live to the age God chooses for us unless a rotten world interferes or we commit suicide & end living the rest of what God appointed for us! It is appointed once for mankind to die & then the Judgement of Jehovah God in Jesus' name!

May God Bless you to be healed completely with GOOD health until we leave these mortal bodies to rest in peace or be raptured into our brand new glorified bodies into our beautiful brand new Mansions in God's Heavenly Kingdom where we (who know Jesus personally) will live eternally because we will never grow old & Death is no more! Please, Dear Lord Jesus, Come quickly, because I sure do want to go Home--my Heavenly one--& be with Jesus forever more! Amen! Ma
Still missing you Ma ...

Hey Chuck, I just had to respond here about the tones of my Sovereign as well. I was hunting an old section of beach at the Hudson River up on the dry sand side that used to be an old Boy's/Girl's scout camp in the 30s and 40s. Got a SCREAMER on my ole' Sov XS that I could swear was a can. Used my foot to kick at the sand and popped out a MORGAN SILVER DOLLAR! Also had a hunt at an old school house with my Troy Shadow years ago and was hunting the edge of the property near the road. Of course there are a lot of cans and trash there as well and I got another screamer that said "coin" with the coin check button. Dug up TWO large cents one on top of the other. You never know... Still use my Sov XS as my main detector and do best WITHOUT the meter. HH , George
Coin CK button.
Which Sovereign is that ?
Does my GT have that ??

Coin check was on the Troy Shadow detector. It would discriminate out things with lower conductivity than copper US cents. It would discriminate out most Indian head cents as well as zinc cents and nickles.
