Went to the Richmond relic club meeting the other night. The theme this month was "coins"...

So besides bringing my oldest coins I've dug, I decided to bring the silver coins I've dug in my yard since moving into this 1779 Greek Revival house 8 years ago. This is not including the 2 large cents, half a dozen Indian head pennies, silver spoons, 5 Civil War buttons, etc. Most of these were dug within the first couple months of moving here, and 60% of them were found around a very large 300 year old tree in the front yard. The latest one I found was a Standing Liberty about 3 months ago. It was standing on edge right right up against the cement walkway, 3 inches down in the dirt, and not giving a good signal but good enough to investigate. The oldest coins besides the large cents and Indian heads is the seated half dime with no date, and a 1902 Barber dime. Thanks for looking.

Cant remember how many axe heads I found on the front lawn alone but it was over 7-8 or them :) in a small lawn.
You have a lot of acres too cover too there.

concur with the Minelab taunts... I'll show you where the other half of the coins are whenever get down there. :bouncy: The old judge must have had holes in his pockets... Like you, I too was surprises when detecting an 1714 home that there wasn't more 1800's silver there... Perhaps they were just more careful with their money then... curious though. What a blast for you when you first moved down there... Very COOL!!!!

Beautiful finds from a beautiful site, most finds here are fliptops around an old ranch house. Seems they leave all their money at the beer store. Thanks for the good show.
