What about digging one way signals? Do you guys dig them or pass them up? :smoke:

ive never found anything good with one way signals always trash or iron one of the guys i hunt with got alot of coins with one way signals with his minelab xterra 705 so hard to say for sure dig a few of them and see what you find good luck hh

You know, i have been asking myself the same thing, using the T2SE
Dug allot of one way signals but only a few have been coins / but some have been neat relics of such.
Once i get a signal, i see just how far around the target i can get before it disappears.
It just hard not to dig a good signal even if it is just one way.
You all know what Monte says...

Usually out of curiosity....any kind of strange signal especially one not heard a lot....sometimes a coin on edge will do that. I remember the most recent being a canadian dime this November on a cold windy day...one way, but sweet tone, made me curious. A good thing to practice is a very speedy retrival method...then it becomes not so much of an issue..if you are really fast on the recovery, you tend to dig more in an outing, learn the language of stuff a lot faster, and hence find more good stuff in the process.

They are metal detectors and a metal target's size, shape, position and proximity to a masking target might produce either one or two -way signal. Yes, a double or multiple audio response from many targets does indicate or hint the possibility of it being a bad target (often iron), but I start my 49th year of detecting next month and I can guarantee you that I have been well rewarded many times from those One-Way responses I have recovered.

Naturally I can be a bit selective, such as limiting quite a few recovery efforts in very pristine private yards while being closely observed and going for the most likely to be favorable responses, but in ghost towns, homesteads, vacant lots, renovation work, etc., etc., a hit-is-a-hit. Like I have preached for most of those decades to help others succeed: "Beep-DIG!"

I dig the one way signals when I don't have enough good sounding 2 way signals to dig.

A bad signal is better than no signal at all. At least you have a chance at finding something good.:)

Well I would recommend you just leave those for me LoL!

Meaning, If I can get a good hit on a target in any one direction I dig it!

Thanks guys. I guess the only true cure for our woes is to hunt in all metal and dig every signal. Thats the way it use to be. Theres no question that we would be more successful. :buds:
