Stringfrenzy's unusual find (See "12/31 The final cut...new years eve hunt...") got me started thinking about weird finds I had made over the years. We're always showing each other our best finds. Let's talk about some of our weirder finds. Pics too if you got 'em. I don't have pics yet of mine, but my two weirdest are an easy choice for me. What makes them weird is the context in which they were found.
First, I found a 1835 Half Penny Token from Nova Scotia - in my hometown in the Texas panhandle. The town wasn't even established until 1890!
Second, I found a fired case from a M203 grenade launcher in a middle of nowhere coal-mining ghost town in the New Mexican desert.
