Its never over!

But yes, being frozen in, I agree with research, talking to old guys at the bait store/restaurant, lining up permission, hanging out here on the Forums, plotting next year, and evaluating last...
For some real World detecting activities, I bag coil and hunt snow hills super early, and watch Craigslist "lost and found" section daily...If somebody loses some PM in a parking lot, I want to know where the snow is being pushed so I can go find it in the Spring....I also hunt through the snow, cant dig the targets, but I can find the "lanes" and come back in the Spring to harvest them...thats one fast way to rack up some loot buddy!
Seems to be stacking up for a long cold Winter this year, so a fellow if he is able may want to do a road trip South...Seriously though, a guy can get everything all set and figured out and then in a burst of frenzy around the Easter break or when the snow piles start to melt get at it and clean up! You can get on Mapquest or Google Earth and surf around with it set on the Satellite feature and find parks, bends in the rivers/creeks, schools, ponds, etc. in little towns or areas close by where you have never been and go over there through the snow to see if they have any merit to go back to in the Spring...whatever you do now will pay off for you if you approach it with a strategic bloodthirsty detecting mindset...you might even find a construction project where you can get into and hunt fresh dirt as a sidewalk is being torn up...
This is a BIG Planet, and these coils are so small, and primo time to hunt is short, plus, who knows how long your heath will hold out so a fellow has to get serious to even have a chance...or else just watch TV, wing it, and maybe get very Lucky next year!
