http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DG2PfCnSbds&feature=related in 56sec. it showed and why it should be removed?. Thanks

The headphone module has an external 1/4" jack so you can use your "regular" headphones while land hunting. That jack is not waterproof. To make the CTX 3030 waterproof, you must remove that module, exposing another jack for attaching the waterproof headphones. The headphone module has internal wiring that connects it's outside jack to the waterproof connector on the inside. So, again, when the module is installed, it makes the outside jack "hot". And when the headphone module is revoved, the waterproof jack is exposed and will require either the waterproof headphones, or the plug shown in the video, to make the CTX 3030 waterproof. HH Randy

Thanks Randy, but I am still a bit confused about this design and Module purpose, its just decoration with outside headphone jack and plug holder or its works like wireless headphones transmitter?, if headphone module on detector can it be submerged till 10ft? wireless headphones will work without headphone module on detector? Thanks Stasys

It is to allow people to use their 1/4" headphones on the detector without having to modify the plug so that you can not use them with another detector. As far as I am aware there is no type of water proof 1/4" connector that will accept a standard headphone jack so this gives you the ability to do both. It does not need to be present for wireless capability but might be nice to keep on there in the event that you have a wireless issue, other than that you do not need it. Remember they sell a ctx without the wireless so those people have to have this piece to use 1/4" headphones

Watch the "Go Detecting Anywhere with the CTX 3030" video and you should get it.
