What have I done!!!

Well, I've gone and done it, bought myself an E-Trac! While I'm happy with my other detector, an AT-Pro, I wanted another tool in my toolbox. Most sites around me have been hunted pretty hard and I wanted something to go deeper for old silver.

So my first question is this. Besides the manual, is the Andy Sabisch book a good source of info? Others I should consider? I'm really looking forward to learning this machine.

HH to all and thanks for any info for my learning curve.

Yes, Andy's book is a great source of info. and will help plenty.

There is a lot of info on the forums too, but nothing beats just getting out there and having fun using it and learning what it is telling you.......;o) I think the AT Pro's days are numbered....Lol.

yes you need "Time In The Seat" (T.I.T.S),,,, and the book will help

First and foremost, using the machine and sticking with it. Andy's book and watching lots of E-Trac videos. Have fun.

At Pro Days are not limited as long as i can hunt in the rain and in the water i would never take my land detectors near the water. and i always bring the AT in case it rains and i don't want to go home.
The Etrac Vs F75Se is like a man and a woman the Etrac is so Quiet lol.

Thanks folks. I look at it as different tools for different jobs. I live on a boat and so I want a detector for the "wet" which is the job of the AT-Pro and if there's rain and I don't want to quit. I don't plan on taking the E-Trac to the beach as I'll wade and don't want one bad step or big wave to be the end of an expensive detector. But I expect the bulk of the "dry" work will be handled by the E-Trac. Besides the ol' AT-Pro has treated me pretty good so far without a hitch and I'm very happy with it. No plans on parting with it! It's also a killer in the totlots with the super sniper. Nothing like a little variety.

I understand nothing beats hands on time learning the tones and the way around the operation of a model. I just like to have a good reference guide to grow with after I get a handle on the basics.

My advice is this... just go very slow with your swings. Let the E tell you what down there. Many a MD'rs have a habit of swinging fast and not close to ground in an attempt to cover an area quickly. However, I dont rreally mind and sometimes follwo directly behind them. Good luck. Mike

This forum is a great place to get your questions answered - I run in Two Tone Ferrous almost all the time and have gotten great results !

Good luck with your new machine !
