What is 1n setting used for?

I didn't see anything in the manual about it.

PG21 of the manual describes 1n as:

Same as 2F except iron audio volume is muted. You will not hear iron, but the display will
still indicate iron.

In the Keith Southern Video there is a demonstration of a nickel next to a chunk of iron. 1n seems to mask the iron and allow the detector to tune into the nickle signal independently. Sounds like something you would to dig.
He then tries it in DE process and the tone is unclear. It is an iffy signal - something you would have to think about if you want to dig.
I thought 1n would be ideal for iron infested sites to dial in on coins or relics.
Comments anyone?

Probably similar to the V3i when rather than reject a target via discrimination you just assign it no tone. Can definitely help with some masking depending on process.
