Found this yesterday at a house built in 1910. Anyone know what it might be?

Thanks,

It may be an old Chinese coin. Can you see any writing on either side? I found 2 last year but there is Chinese letters on both sides.

Nothing on the other side. It's slightly concave on the side showing. The only markings are the two A-like characters. Thought it was a metal (brass or copper) button when I found it, but the square center hole made me question that.

It's possible that it's a coin or token that is punched and counterstamped. The concave shape could be from the force of punching the hole using a square nail. The A or AA could be the merchants initial(s). Very cool!

I think it's pretty cool, too. Thanks for responding..
