WHAT IS YOUR FAST GRAB #

gmanlight

New member
I read a good post here on Indian heads and different id # at different depth and knowing soil conditions

can alter detecting depth i was wondering what your typical fast grab # mine is around 80 + or --

I have seen low 40s but not much in between. In a few very small sections of lots ,like new dirt was dump there

Thus putting a FG# to a found coin at x depth can help put it in prospective to others reading posts

My fast grab is between 55 and 65, for the most part. The deepest IH I've found has been at 7" with a solid mellow signal in all directions. With that kind of signal, I don't pay much attention to the ID meter. I just dig it.

keep on diggin'

so if it sounds good but meter says its a pulltab you dig it anyway? the reason i,m asking is i was hunting without headphones one time and the guy i was with would say aren't you going to dig that. i would say that its a pulltab. he would say but it sounds so good. i finally started digging and it was always a tab.

ONLY those mellow deep signals are dug in spite of the meter ID. Very deep items don't ID all that well.
