What reading do you get for a walking liberty half dollar?

Mosley

I was checking my E-track with a walking liberty half dollar and got a reading of 1-46. I found this quite revealing because the stock coin program has 1-46 discriminated out.

ya big silver rings and 3 quarters stacked ring in about that area
need to edit the stock coin program to accept
good luck

You need to recheck your signal. Make sure you are doing it outside, electrical and construction materials can cause interferance.

A silver half should be reading around FE 08-10 and CO 43-44 range. The FE can jump up to 01, but that shouldnt be the main reading.

Carcur is right though, you need to edit your screen because you wont register silver dollars with the stock program.

Not real sure on the walker but just before freeze up here in Iowa I got a newer clad half and it read 09-50.And the barber half from earlier this year I think was in the 11-49 to 50 range but alas my memory isn't what it used to be. I'll have to get a walker out and check tomorrow. Grumpy

The two walking liberties I found rang up as 1/47 if I remember and the franklin bounced from 1/47 to 8/47. Since there is much more silver and less other ferrous metals in the coin, I believe that the ferrous number is smaller. Just my thoughts and observations. TMAN...

The Walker I found was coming in at about 11-46 now the Barber I found was more like 09-47

Hmmm, seems that we are all getting varied responses on our halves. Maybe the ground minerals and coin position plays a lot in this.

I found four half dollars this year - but they were all Kennedy's - they also came in around the FE (06 - 07 - 09) - CON (47) range.

I haven't found a silver half with my E-Trac yet but I've read every reply on this post and the one thing that read true reply after reply and that was CON #'s of 46-47. So if you get a nice high silver pitcher, no matter the FE #s and a CON # 46-47 sounds like you need to dig. At least I sure would. Rick

I found one about a month ago in a farm field. The signal was not ringing in like an air test would, it was not real clean but did read 9/10-47. It ended up being down about 8", maybe partially on its side.
