This thing was a foot deep and has the back of a capped bust coin but its made of something HEAVY?? It almost feels too heavy for copper but is for sure not silver. I was hunting the site of an old stagecoach stop with Bryce and Darrel which was in use from the 1820's til late 1800's. Does anyone have ANY idea of what this could be. It is the exact same size as a half dollar.
Could this be some type of counterfeit half dollar??...and should I soak it in olive oil or something to hopefully looses up the grit on front?
