On my brother-in-law's property he recently built a pond and used a lot of the dirt to build a dam. I have to admit that
I am trying to get him interested in metal detecting. He wanted to see how the CTX worked. We went across the dam
in open screen coin mode. History of this area is that he built a new house on a hill right next to a snake infested swamp.
It was once many many years ago logged out and left this open area that just never reproduced the timber worth keeping
or selling. That's why he dug the pond there behind his house. On crossing the dam we were not getting any hits. Then
we hit a very strong signal and at about 4" we dug an old early 1900's ax head that we later learned was worth over $300.00.
We proceeded on and got another hit about 9" down. We dug but never could find anything at all but dirt. He went back to
the house and got an old window screen. We sifted the dirt and again found nothing. Then he went back and got the magnet
he used to pick up the nails around his house after the construction was completed. That's when we found about a dozen
hair sized pieces of rusted bulldozer cable, checked the dirt and hole again and it was then clean. Then did a close inspection
of the magnet and found the cable pieces. The machine doesn't lie. Sometimes you just have to do a DNA to get the truth out of it.

In fields those small .22 slugs will hit on 7 to 8 inches deep! Some times I think this machine is too good!

YES THAT TO IS SMALL

many small thing have been un-earth with the CTX. i have found sm. copper/brass washers also and i mean sm. down 6+ in or more

So far this was the smallest item I found. A small piece of an aluminum rivet I found on the beach over the weekend. It took a while as it kept falling through my scoop holes. I remember thinking to myself lets get rid of this so we don't have to go through that again LOL.

I just found a small wire connected that you crimp on the end. I'm using slow sweep speed and letting my machine do its thing. It will find small stuff

If you mean the smallest good find, I found a very small thin 14K white gold band that gave me a 12-01 reading a few days ago. (BTW, I returned it to the young lady that lost it.)
