Wheat spill with steel wheat included....lol

normally I dislike wheats, to me they are only an indicator that silver is nearby. But I thought this spill was neat because it had a steel wheat in it and you can actually still see the outline of Lincoln's head on it....lol

I found this in the yard I dug the 1857 flying eagle today....but just now got these cleaned up for a pic...

Still cool to find one with a detector.

Thanks Terry! It never ceases to amaze me what you unearth!

it gave a crazy signal, the steel was on top, I think it was like 21-41.....it bounced like crazy but was screaming so I dug it....kinda fun. I keep checking over and over for a merc in the hole, but no such luck!

That's exactly how I found my one and only steel penny too........in a coin spill. Hawkeye Jim.

Very nice Terry, I wonder if a 43 will ever be dug in reasonable condition!

That is a cool find. I had a similar experience when I was hunting in Indiana. Got 6 wheaties and a steel wheatie in the same hole. My two hunting buddies and I pulled a ton of silver out of that park. Wish I could find a park like that here in TEXAS. HH. TMAN...

Good thing you ate your wheaties, or you would have had trouble with that steel. My bad, nice finds....

What's that coin "air test" at Terry? Just curious. At least that one looks like its got some face still on it.

Thanks,

I ran it under the coil after I dug it, and I believe it was just like a nail
