Where does an IH hit on the T2 TID?

I was coinshooting today at the site of a couple of old homes that are now vacant lots. I found a 1942 merc and a 1944 quarter. I am afraid I might miss and IHs because I don't know where they live on the TID.

Thanks,

J

I doubt you will miss them Julien. If I remember correctly mine read in the very low 50's. I have been experimenting with the 1 tone disc 21 setting you mentioned in another thread. Nothing to report yet but it is proving interesting.

I have been trying it too. I am beginning to think that it is a setting to use on sites you have already hunted well with the 2+ setting to see if you missed anything.

Low 50s is can slaw range... bummer.

In my test garden the IH's read from 72 to 75 Dates from 1865 to 1907
The IH's I have dug have also read between 72 to 75 & 61 to 64
Now the Dates that I can read are all from 1864 up to 1907 which puts them in the copper /tin / tinc Composition range. See Chart Below!
I do have some IH's with out readable dates that ID in the 61 to 64 Range, which could be the earlier 1859 to 1864 composition range. I am going to get some IH's tomorrow for testing in the 1859 to 1864 that have readable dates for my test Garden. Thanks for asking!

1859 - 1864 copper / nickel composition
1864 - 1907 copper / tin / tinc composition

Thanks for the help, i'll watch for what you find. I need to get some to try, and some gold coins... heh.

I don't remember on the T-2, but it should be like any other detector in the fact they read like the new zinc pennies with some a number one way or the other differnt. This is also some of the first wheaties too will read the same. I know they do on my Sovereign and explorer plus my Troy X 5 when I had it so I feel it will be the same with the T-2 and the F-75 and if I don't forget i will check it on my F-75 later on. This the IH from the 1865-1909 the ones before, the fatties will read lower and in the same area as most pull tabs do I was told.
