Experimentation with the armrest and lower rod length to fit your spec's will give you more comfortable time in the field...Some use harnesses and the like but they put the weight on your larger back muscles so if you have had back problems keep this in mind..Sore arm is one thing but a injured back can put you down relative enjoying the hobby..
 
Dan , well said. Still suffer from sore right elbow pain as I've applied those suggestions you've mentioned. Since I've not purchased a swingy-thingy device, relief of pain comes from almost nightly heating pad and dumbell curls & flies 3x a week. I try to switch out arms when fatigue sets in, usually after 20-25 minutes of swinging.
