The extension cords I had were made I believe by Whites, and they looked the same as the coil cord. Connect one end to the coil cord and the other to the machine. It was just an extension with the same connectors.
The extended rod setup was Whites. Looked just like a straight long factory rod, arm cup, angled factory handle and all. You would remove the machine box from the rod connected to the coil, then clip on the extension rod assembly. The arm cup was blue with the Velcro strap. Run the coil cord up the rod, then extend it over to the machine connector with an extension which the machine would be hip mounted. Then I had came across some straight stock to extend all even more. Everything that the spring clip locks just the the original.
The harness I had consisted of straps that went over the shoulders. Up front, was like a set of straps that went down to a belt just like the back, except also on the front was another set of thinner straps that had clips to clip to two of the detectors D rings, the ones up toward the meter. Then the other two D rings at the back of the detector connected to clips on the belt. I had them generally clipped so the detector was in front of me. Then adjust the shoulder straps longer or shorter for personal preference on the detector housing tilt. You could run the detector straight out from the body or tilted up i.e. 45 degree angle. I would get a little annoyed when digging because the detector connected to, unlike just setting everything on the ground. Also when mounted straight out in front, I'd swing and walk a little at an angle to prevent hitting the detector. Got used to it thought. Been so many years I can't recall where I got that harness. I at one time had another set up that connected just off a wide belt, by using only 2 of the D rings on one side of the detector. I had some sort of leads that clipped to the D rings on one side, then the clipped the leads to a belt. This puts the detector right at the hip and could be mounted on either side. As I walked and swept the coil with one hand, I would hold the machine with the other hand to keep it in hand like normal use, and to keep the box kind of steady, from flopping/bouncing on it;s own.
Were talking years ago here when I obtained all this stuff. I'm sure there may be several ways to harness a detector - personal preference. I haven't checked but who knows if Whites still carries this stuff. If it ain't on their site maybe a call so see if they still have some. Another option may be checking Whites dealers, who knows what they may have if they been in business for years. It's just what I had from years ago I used for several years and had no reason to change or keep up on how this stuff ran on the market.
I do recall somewhat when I first separated the box from the factory coil rod, I tried to just hold the box in one hand and swing with the other. Have to keep from pulling the connector at the box, so I took some of the slack, brought the coil cord from the box, up to the handle, attached it there. Prevented pulling right at the connector. Watch for to much extension hanging which might get caught in brush. Had the same problem with headphone cords also, and I have always used headphones from the start before I got the 6000, and still do to this day. I know the headphones I got new when I got the 6000, at the same time. I never used them because I didn't like them. I knew what I liked in headphones and I was disappointed. I should have known but when I got the 6000, I also got extra stuff as a package deal.
Anyway were talking some years ago and I have gone through a mixed of several detectors and accessories. I'll try and check sometime this week to see if I saved any older pics of the setup. Not to likely though as I no longer have the 6000 but if I run across it, maybe the extensions and harness etc. may be in a pic.
