Who has had the e-track pay for itself already?

Don't think I'm quite there yet, but getting closer every week.

49 silvers so far for this year and about 60 or so silvers total since November when I got my E-Trac.

About 150 wheaties (which are nearly worthless) and 100 bucks in clad along with about 6 silver rings.

Unless I make a big find, it'll take another year or so to pay for itself; that is if I were to sell my finds. (which I don't)

I am about $200.00 away from paying of my E-Trac. The 1862 $1.00 Gold coin helped take a chunk off the top. I have had my E-Trac since October. Not to shabby, and I am 56 now. Getting kind of hard to go Up & Down alot, but, I make do. I will be going to the Blue & Gray Hunt II in September to try and add more Dollars to this remarkable machine. HH...Jesse.

A fellow detectorist here in Ohio who hunts with an E-trac found a nice 1916d Mercury Dime. Nick can also verify this. That one find will pay for his detector more than twice but he says he'll never sell that coin. It's the find of a lifetime. Now that's a lucky man! :bouncy: I haven't paid for my detector with my finds, but for me the goal isn't to pay for my detector but to have fun. If I pay for my detector in the process then that's an added bonus. :super:

Yep, it's true... Mike found a very nice 1916D dime with the E-Trac.

Heh heh, you could be from the IRS, checking up on us...
I traded for my E-Trac, but the finds so far are very near the value of what I traded for my used E-Trac. By end of year it should be more than even.

I agree, I'm not looking to get it to pay for itself.
If that was my goal, I'd grab a Garrett Ace 250 for cheap and dig quarter signals at all the schools and athletic fields and have it paid off in no time.

You can see a slideshow of some of my finds on my website if you google "Ohio metal detecting"

Purchased my E-Trac in March and first trip to the beach on vacation I have at least 1,100 to 1,200 dollars in rings retail price.

Wow, I love that. I figured there have been some great success using E-trac. I have noticed the e-trac is really finding some awesome stuff in Europe.
Thank you!

Found some good things recently with the E Trac. Here's one I got a couple of weeks ago. It's a 1796 Liberty Cap Large Cent. All of the varieties for that year are fairly rare. Bet I could get about 3-4 hundred for it. If I sold all I have found so far, I bet it would be close to being paid for. It takes longer to pay for your detector doing foundations. One GW Button and it's paid for, but that's rare. I would say the beach is the best and fastest place to get your money back.

Hi: Over the years of detecting and getting out with them a great deal the real finds have been friends, the ability to be out and about with the wife, she does not detect much but goes out to outspend my take so to speak. The Minelab series has reopened the door to lots more older more valuable items. I have been using them since the first Explorer and had a Golden Hawk for nugget shooting claims in Wy.and Alaska. The past couple seasons have been great and the wife agrees that I have made up for the past and really brought in the loot and gold. Paid for maybe rings, coins nuggets etc. I recently sold off some and took in 6600.00 off e-bay on items found and not too many sold to get that, old fishing tags off nets from the turn of the century, some great coins, gold nuggets. Installed a new bathroom with that money and bought an Explorer SE, it found several items that paid for it some reales, and an 1823 bust half that right there paid for the SE, I have been so impressed with this line of detectors I purchased another the E-trac,sold the SE off and still continue to do well. I went ahead and then did the research for the area and became a Minelab dealer and it is going well. I retirred in June of 08 and this has been fun,we are finding more finds in friends and great coins, rings, whatzits, and other relics. Paid for manytimes over in just the fact we love it and find stuff. Attached are this spings E=trac finds up to late May. :detecting:Hardrock P.S. The 1898 "O" sold for 275.00 not a bad dig. You can pay for them but that to me is not the reason I do it. :minelab:

I guess I paid for the etrac in the first month when I got lucky, but like most of you, I don't sell my older finds so it may not count. I'm guessing that the value of the Monroe button (after this one there are now two to three known) would be up there, considering it is rarer than the majority Washington Inaugurals. I agree with you guys though, you can't put a value on the thrill of the find, even a humble one (or a value on thrill of the hunt for that matter).

Including the Monroe from last month, these are my best previous finds which I guess in theory paid for my white's eagle, the old 6000 too, and the fisher aquanaut. My very first detector, the old white's "coinmaster" paid for itself years ago when I hit my school's sledding hill's bottom "bump" where we used to go airborn in the 50's. . That produced literally pockets of silver 'back in the day" which I unloaded later when the Hunt brothers tried to corner the silver market. The other great silver haul was in my hometown's "forrest park, which had rows of old concrete picnic tables from the thirties which had collapsed years before I got there to detect. I spent a couple of weeks lifting each table top over to find a nice carpet of coins under each one. The good old days! sigh...

As with a later post about the cashe of Silver Half Dollars I found a couple of days ago, I am now only $83.00 away for paying off my E-Trac. Getting closed everyday. HH...Jesse.
