Why can't we produce beautiful coins like this??

if it was a limited edition or similar, it would be good to have. but if it were a common coin it would be no more appealing to have than a normal coin

Anything is more appealing than drab, lifeless, clad. When our coins were all silver ( and gold at one time ) they sure beat the hell out of this cheap crap they shuck out now. I remember when I lived in Las Vegas many years ago my pockets were always full of beautiful Morgan silver dollars ( as that was the coin of the realm at that time ) and there ain't many coins purtier than a shiny Morgan. Wish I had saved a bunch of them but who knew the crummy government was going to take away our right to own real money and replace it with junk..I have a fair collection of foreign coins and some of them are real pretty compared to our junky stuff.

They even screwed up the Sacagawea dollars by covering them with a gold color that after some use turns to an ugly baby poop brown - but underneath is a gleaming silver finish that is much more appealing. Go figure.

Bill.

The US Mint makes the most beautiful coins ever produced bar none. Take a look at the Ultra High Relief $20 Gold piece that is now for sale (I ordered mine last Tuesday.) Our circulating coins are equally beautiful.

I like the past Mercury dimes and Standing Liberties. Just wish the new ones were made of silver and solid gold.

I just went and looked at that coin. She is a beauty. At $1200 a coin I hope some get dropped in the tot lots! Wishful thinking. Looks like a good investment though.

It was 50 bucks cheaper when I bought it on 1/22. My ship date is 2/6/09. I'll post a photo when I get it. I rolled my tips (change) from the past few years to buy it. I was gonna spend it on a vacation but this is better.

Chris

There is still enough change for a short vacation too.

There's new $'s going round w/ presidents on them. They will never catch on as long as they keep making $1 bills..... Come on BAN THE $1bill !!!!!!! The single mom's (strippers) need a raise!!!!

I wish they would discontinue the one and five dollar bill and replace them with coins. Would sure make coinshooting more fun. :)

Bill

Well I am sure the American mint can produce some very nice coins but you have to take a look at the Canadian mint which produces some really nice and very rare expesive coins the best in the world bar none. The ones I wouldn't mind getting are the pure gold ones!! and there is a few titanium ones which are the most rare in the world.
