Why did you get rid of your Safari?

Just curious as to why previous Safari owners got rid of them after having owned one.

Bought an E-Trac but still got my Safari. Takes awhile to learn the language but nobody got rid of a Safari because they did'nt find stuff. HH :minelab:

Wasn't detecting much anymore and was fly fishing more. Sold it and bought a new Orvis Rod and Reel. I sure miss it though. I had four detectors at the time and I was able to sell the safari for almost what I paid for it used. Plus I cashed in a gold ring I found for $128 and I found lots o silver with it.

I got rid of mine because it was pretty much useless on Roman sites. I upgraded to a T2 and saw a considerable increase in finds. Now I have a Deus and it makes the Safari look like a toy. I really cannot believe Minelab bothered to sell the Safari particularly in the UK where it struggles to find anything against even modest detectors. I feel robbed by Minelab making claims that were far from the truth. Even my Ace 250 recovered quicker than my Safari it may be deep, but depth is not everything.

Invested too much in coils to get rid of it. Depth gauge is worthless. Clad quarters read silver, not very happy. Thought that the tones would be the issue, but it is the depth gauge and showing new pennies to be midway down on the gauge when they are just under the surface.

Hope to like it more, as I use it, but now, not happy at all. Feel like I did when I traded my trusty RedBaron 7 in for a brand new, auto ground balancing RB 10. Like crap.

I just could not detect without hitting tons of Iron Targets no matter the settings.. The iron always Sounded and Id'd as good solid coin reading.

In my area this was not a good situation...........
