Why even look at a T2......................

Ivan

New member
..........when the new Fisher 75 is such a better improved machine, it will even remember settings after being turned off.....has backlight... as well a smaller coil too. I was getting ready to buy a T2 now forget it!!! I will wait for the new ultimate Fisher .....I like what I see. I wonder if Teknetics 2 will recieve the same fate as the orginal company. I'm getting the felling now that First Texas has bouht Fisher the Teknetics has now become a stop gap measure...an unwanted orphan. So sad!!

When the F75 was announced I talked to Teknetics about the future of the brand. There are more Teknetic models to follow in the coming future. And is the the F75 an improvement? Right now it seems like a few cosmetic updates that T2 users can and have lived without. T2 users are performance driven.

Where did you get all that information. Is there F75 site up yet? i'd sure like to read that information also good neighbor!
I'm not so sure yet... that anyone can review a detector that hasn't come to market yet. You can always get a lot of people talking about things they don't really know about.Myself included, Thats why the crazy rant...

Now if there is a professional opinion out there by all means lets get it posted with documents and a place where the information can be found at!
The T2 is a powerful machine. If she dies out I'd still have to keep mine as I've grown quit happy with it!

Till I try this F75 well.....wellsee how it does.

There is according to First Texas a smaller coil coming for the T2. However maybe someone from First Texas will step up and give us some truth to all the unknowns.

How about First Texas.....What's our FUTURE?

I know what I'll be doing hunting like always, I use all my detectors and have grown to love the T2 as well. It's a great hunting machine.
And was priced right for all it's features...

I worry ...don't get me wrong. However my worry is for the F75. All this hype is going to run expectations of the F75 over the roof.

It may have more features, most seem okay but not necessary. And for $999.00 rather than 699.00 the extra 300.00 for a backlight, memory, and stability achieved by down sizing sensitivity? I'm not sure of the worth of that!
I've got a T2 now...It's very powerful, I can stabilize it with the controls for all the various situations I hunt in. I really don't want reduced sensitivity, or loss of anything. My T2 does what I want it to do. The added power over most every detector on the market appears to come from the T2.

Do I hope that F75 is a better machine? Of course I do....It's my hobby!

Good luck F75....

Now comeon T2 lets go hunting! And First Texas we are expecting continued support models and coils from this detector!

Competition is a good thing, even between departments!

The T2 may just be a real jittery relic hunter but it finds the good targets in the iron. So the real test with the new fisher is how it works for relic hunting in iron and trash.

I feel if the new F75 has some improvements over the T-2, which I am sure they will have, with some of these will be on the new T-2 or even new model Teknetics when they come out in the future.
As we are seeing that First Texas is using some of the same housing we see on other brands they make to be cost related, but you know the Electronics are going to be different from the Bounty Hunters to the Fishers.
Myself I am looking forward to this new venture by the largest metal detector company ,First Texas, going to be interesting what new detectors Fisher and Teknetics will come out with in the future.

You make some very good points. First Texas spent a lot of development dollars on the T2. Most likely in excess of half a million to get it in production! They have to get their money back and make a profit so continuing the development with new improved models makes sense.

Marketing a model under the Fisher brand is also a good move because the Teknetics name is not familiar to many detectorists and there is already a large Fisher dealer base that can promote and sell a new "high end" model. Hard core users will use what works no matter the name however, the general public might be a little hesitant to shell out in excess of $900.00 on something carrying a name they never heard of.

I expect to see more new machines from FT under both names with each aimed a little different segment of the detector buying public. The future looks good for us users and dealer/users like yourself also!

I will be getting and trying the Fisher too but the backlight and the memory of settings is really not an issue. Especially the memory thing. It takes about 10 seconds to reset a T2 if you turn it off and in four months of almost daily use I have not wished for a backlight. So, we will just have to wait and see if the improvements really are worth the bucks, I truly hope they are because as good as the T2 is, if it get's that much better it will be the best machine on the market.
At the GNRS hunt in VA last weekend the T2 bumped Bounty Hunter up into a close third place, right behind Tesoro who got second and Nautilus who got first. Whites got fourth, Minelab and Fisher tied for fifth, and Garrett came in last. Now... this is really saying something because I was there and wasn't well on Saturday so I only hunted one day, Friday. Another guy hunted only one day and didn't find anything on Friday. I think 12 of the 16 members of the BH team had a T2. AND... Bounty Hunter has always come in last place in the past, so way to go T2 !!!!!!!

If the F-75 is really that much better it will be the best thing going!!! Without a doubt.

I just read an account of 40 cars and 150 fellows trespassing without a contract?
Sorry I'm not up on the workings of these paid hunts.
You saying you were actually part of that traveling circus act?

There were 2 fellows bragging about having F75's there? Happen to see any? I figured they were full of hot air.

Glad the T-2 fared well in any case and hope you attain refunds in full from the organization in charge. :bounty: :bounty:

Yes, it was my first such affair and was not the mess that some make it out to be. Sometime's thing's just go wrong. I don't know what happened exactly but it was ok. The participants were not informed about the site until the night before the first day and being from out of state most, me included, had no clue about any controversy. The antis just used us in there campaign to take land from the owner. They want to take it by "imminate domain" from the owner who want's to develope it. They were not upset at us but used us as a political tool in their cause. The hunt went on, just on another site. I came home to my own sites, not because of the trouble but because I just felt bad physically.
So take what you hear from folks who weren't there with a grain of salt. A good time was had and no charges were filed, everything on our side was in good faith I believe. In any case, I am glad to be home and I had a good time there too.

BH, did a great job!!

But, A third place sure is allot better than the usual last :)

Maybe if all the BH team members used the T-2 instead of 12 out of 16, the out come may have been better?

Thanks for sharing the results Julien,

I 'm sure I'll try the latest offerings that come out but the t-2 is so far ahead of the pack right now it relic hunting backlights and last save dosent mean that much to me. The t-2 has proven its worth to me here in my ground I've still got a lot of spots to go over with this machine to see whats left behind so im happy right now. It'll keep me busy for awhile.

I feel the same Keith,

When I first bought my T-2 and did some quick field testing I knew right there it was going to be my main relic detector, The machine is so easy to use and very user friendly for those wanting to be a step ahead of the pack.

No back light or memory are minor issues, What counts are the guts of the detector and the T-2 has plenty.
