Why is a user obligated to make a video or jump through hoops for those who do not own an AT Pro

crappy attitude... most people don't have any money to spare and many people are in relationships that can become strained with the purchase of one more detector. You have no idea what circumstances other people deal with or what face they may choose to put on their situation... in any case you really seem intolerant of people you know nothing about... I have not bought an AT, I am interested, and I can say this because I stand on the ground of all the other machines I bought when they were released... quite a few of them.

You paint those you know nothing about with quite a broad brush. I hope others give you a bit more benefit of the doubt... now get your "dander" back down and save your indignation for something that matters... this is a hobby and times are hard... no need for you to be a hardnose.

Sorry for the rant, but I really don't understand where you are coming from or how it causes you any harm.

No one is obligated. Do it if you want. I pick up about every new detector out as I like to try them for my self. If it is a newer high end detector I have probably owned one. None of them are perfect not even the $1500 ones. I hunt with them a while If I like them and see a need for them I keep them if not I sell them and take a little loss it is all part of the fun and worth it to me. I do post on each one as I buy it and what I think of them. Do not have a favorite brand love some don't like others. Could make a long post as to what I think about each brand but some one would get there feelings hurt. Only thing I think about as far as brands go now is how is the service after the sale. If it takes for ever to get repaired if you have a problem or if you call and they will not help or return calls then you have a problem. A lot of good companies out there just got to go for it. If you have time to hunt enough you will pay for your detector in time. Folks need to quit bitching so much and just enjoy. Buy one and try it out what I like you may hate every one is different. Why wait on video or every one else to tell you what is best jump in and find out.

Well, I am going to by one and do my own test (duh, like a new girlfriend). I am new to the hobby only 4 months , but I Can C an upgrade real soon from my ACE. And i really do enjoy the videos and input from people "who are willing to take a risk." Its all about help and reading this forum to me right now . U R all nuts behind the wheel. When I get my upgrade i will post some pics (probably lower standard stuff like I usually post) but to everyone who has taken their time and effort to make the videos and pics U R Doing Great. I will watch and maybe not feel like a loser, for someone who is just following like me , I need a leader.

We can disagree but calling someone a loser ??

Someone is having a bad day indeed! Care for a
beer or a glass of wine.

Relax and enjoy the hobby!

I agree, there is no need for anyone to be condescending to people. Someone saving to buy or trying to be sure of what they are doing before spending their hard earned money in todays economy does nothing to harm people who are blessed to be able to buy ASAP... I don't understand that sort of behavior at all.

There is nothing wrong with people waiting and watching to see what others think. Thosewho are in a position to "take the risk" in the beginning should be thankful for their ability to do so and those who have to be mose careful should not feel any the less about it. I've been able to buy more detectors than I need but when I was younger there were times when I could not have even considered buying anything more than a used BH machine... if I found a really good deal on it... no car.. not much of anything... making soup from wild onions picked from the yard and making soup from the same hambone twice... if you are blessed, be thankful, if you ahve to be careful, be careful and keep at it... one day you will be the one "taking the risk".

Never let any insensitive person make you feel down because we are all in the same boat... we come into the world naked and we leave naked, inbetween we suffer and we have joy and if we are blessed we have love... being mean comes from inside a person, from that person's own misery... never let it bother you.

(Not you...Larry but some others who might be hurt by some of the tacky posting lately) I know from experience that life (the devil) always kicks you when you are down, hits you where you are weakest. BUT... what he never seems to learn is that when someone is down and you kick them... it makes them want to get back up!!

Merry Christmas!!!

I'm new to metal detecting. That's why I joined a forum. I want to learn as much as I can about metal detecting. I'm interested in buying an atpro. I don't really care if you make a video or not. I just want some peoples input on it before I buy it. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year Dave

I for one am very grateful for all the videos and any informed comments (both positive and negative) on the AT Pro. Am I letting others take the risk before I buy? No because I pre-ordered one at the start of last month before it was released and have thus already taken "the risk". I have yet to receive it so the video's and testing that is going on means I now know what I am going to get and will hopefully shorten my learning curve when it does arrive.

There is no way I would want anybody to feel obligated, but am very happy that they have taken the effort to make the postings. To all those people - a BIG THANK YOU!!

Videos are always great and most appreciated!

Especially when you live in WI and can't get out in the winter!
Watching the videos is the best next thing :)

For those who make em !! Many of us are grateful
for the time and effort!

Happy Holidays!

Isn't that what the forums are for? Obligated - no - But why tell anyone you have one if your don't want people asking? And why would you be surprised about being asked on a metal detecting forum lol.

This is America and you have the right to say what you want. Grip on, we will listen. Enjoy Metal Detecting as it was ment to. I have for over 42 years and will continue to...Jesse.

A few minor tweeks like cam locks, headphone adapter, moving back the arm rest for better balance, will improve the sound, false signals, and wrist fatigue. The electronics are fine. Great value for the money. Tone roll id superb. Nuff said.

What are cam locks?

These forums are a place to express and share your opinions.

Believe me the Press and News TV have misinformed you and led you to the wrong information many times over.
They are not supposed to offer opinions ... just facts.

Here it is all opinion.
Even a video needs to be takes with that understanding.
Conditions will dictate how well a detector works or does not work.
Also all detectors are NOT created equal.
Some are better than others even within the same make/model.

I appreciate anyone that takes the time to post a video ... it aint easy and it does take time to do.
It is done not for profit but to help others.
Let's consider that before criticizing anyone about they present.

(still waiting to see the videos showing long range devices finding gold from miles away)
