Will Deus 1 be obsolete?

Non that I know of that are for civilian use and hobby . Granted most detectorist are land hunters so … HH with what ever detector you choose to hunt with and have fun . Life is to short. 🍻

Same here.......love detecting, fast bikes, love shooting although its only air rifles over here, jealous about the ancient indian artefact hunting.Always wanted a go at archery......there are a few craftsmen in my area that still make old English longbows which i will definately try one day.Not long parted with my hayabusa.......absolutely awesome bike, great allrounder. Thats a lot of faffing about.........i could have found all those romans with my goldmax power.....no screen,no programs just knobs and switches.😊

I bought the xp deus 2 and it has bottle cap reject on it and also water proof. I can go into an area loaded with bottle caps and sniff out coins and silver jewelry with the xp deus 2. The xp deus 1 on the other hand does not have bottle cap reject, so when I go over a bottle cap I have to check it out. I still have the xp deus 1 with the HF coil, waiting on a battery for it.
I am going to try a experiment and hunt with the xp deus 1 with the HF coil for a couple days. Then try the xp deus 2 with the 9 inch coil for a couple of days see how I do.
I do not think the XP Deus 1 will be obsolete as it still preforms well and is a Light machine.

So I love the dues 1. I have two very old gen 1 machines. Sometimes my daughter or a buddy goes with me and I let them run my spare machine. I’m about to buy a new gen 1 because it worries me they may stop making the gen 1. I also have a buddy with the gen 2 who says he likes the gen 1 better but he wanted the waterproof capability of the 2. I personally have filled multiple display cases with the 1 and it just seems to never let me down. I can’t justify spending the money on a 2 because I don’t go out detecting as much as I use to. I also don’t feel
Like starting over with the learning curve. My machine is on the charger now and I’m headed out to a site I wasn’t able to find a few years back and I actually stumbled across it shed hunting the other day. Crazy how things can be hiding right under your nose.

Plus the fact that the 2 isn't going to find you any more than the 1 in reality.👍

Ground mineralization where I detect determines whether a VLF is obsolete or not. Deus 2 can detect AND identify coin sized targets at 9 to 11” depth where I detect.

Deus 1 might hit a 9” deep coin here but it will respond as iron. It could only accurately identify 4” or shallower targets.

So for me and where I detect, Deus 1 was totally obsoleted by Deus 2 since most of my detecting in moderate to high mineralization is selective digging. No way am I allowed to I dig it all on public property.

Anytime I have Deus 1 separation syndrome I just run my Deus 2 in its Mono or Fast40 single frequency program and then I get over my sense of Deus 1 loss.

No detector becomes obsolete if you are really proficient with it. I have used the X-Terra 70 since 2007 and I find myself going back to it even since I have the X-Terra Pro. I have not found anything more with the Pro than than I have with the 70.
Most of my relics were found with the older X-Terra 70.

I had a Deus for a few years then sold it and bought an Equinox 800 when they first came out. Since then I've had back surgery and really haven't done too much detecting. My plan is to start back up this spring and I really want another Deus but don't want to break the bank on the new Deus 2. My question is will the DEUS 1 be obsoleted now that the DEUS 2 is out? I can pick up a used Deus 1 for half the price of the 2 but don't want to do that if it's going to be an obsoleted detector. Thanks in advance and sorry if this has already been brought up.
I'm not so sure. Do you remember a while back when Garrett introduced the Equinox? The claim was that the Equinox will make all other metal detectors obsolete. While the Equinox proved to be a really good detector, many other brands and models are still out there. Never be fooled by the hype.

Garrett didn't introduce the Equinox. It was Minelab...
