Wireless headphones for Etrac?

Anyone have them?..if so ..what brand and how are they?...I'm looking around on ebay for a set but with a multifrequency detector, I don't want any interference
 
RADIO -SHACK has a wireless unit, model #33-1253A, they are the behind the neck style, lightweight, and are rechargable. They come with it's own battery charger and a small transmitter that I mounted to the side of the arm rest with velcro. They last about 5 hrs of use between charges on my Quattro and now my E-TRAC. The transmitter uses a 1/8" jack, so a 1/4" adapter is needed. There is a volume control on the headphones, and have used them for about 2 years with no problems. the only thing is that if another wireless unit is close by (15') it will pick up signals from both detectors. Check them out.
 
I am interested also, especially for deep woods hunting, the cable can be annoying.
That model seems to be discontinued. Has anyone used or is using any? There seems to be blue tooth, 2.4ghz and 900mhz models. Has anyone had any issues with any of these frequencies?
 
I think the "Bay" might have something similar. I Googled "metal detector wireless" and there were several long threads on other sites about this topic (links below are models recommended in them), but none very new that I saw so maybe there is a better option now. Kind of just looking right now myself. I got a pair of Grey Ghosts but the volume just doesn't adjust right, goes from soft to laud in one click.... annoying!

I don't own an E-Trac but the RS wireless unit mentioned works great on my X-70. However, if you purchase this unit I strongly suggest you fork over the extra dough and buy the warranty. There have been issues in the past with the dongle breaking. I'm careful and have never had a problem.
 
Thanks xwyokid. If you dont mind me asking, do they have any hint of a delay between going over the target and actually hearing it? Also, how is the sound quality compared to some of the better phones? Thanks again for your input.
 
But they worked great while they lasted. You can get them on sale for about $50 once in a while so even if they just last 2 years, $25 per year, not bad.....
 
Just got my wireless headphones from an ebay auction, their the cheapee 20 dollar set....The sound quality is nice but the delay in hearing when sweeping over the target is really bad..I'm like a foot past the target in the swing when I hear the tone....I ordered a set of walmart ones, maybe that model will be better

I don't think that it will be something that will be of any use. Just my opinion.

I see visual being the upcoming thing with metal detectors using ultra sound technology. Virtual reality vision glasses that will outline the target as to shape. Better than sound. Better than numbers. Seeing through the ground with technology.

Imagine seeing a pull tab and knowing it is not something you would want to dig. Being absolutely sure what that target is. It is coming.

Metal detecting will be a lot more fun sooner than you think.

I have to tell you I thought the same thing, I picked up a Vision and now I am changing my tune. It is pretty nice I must say. Especially hunting in wooded area, in the open not at much.
I want to find a set to put on my Etrac now, I am taking my time though, I plan on buying something good. 2 AA for the headphones and maybe 2 AA for the dongle, I'll take that. not much more to charge
