Word to the wise about the 11" Pro Coil.

From this add it looks like it only works on SE and SE pro -
but after reading posts this coil will work on trusty XS correct?
If so I might order one - I just want to make sure this is the coil and it works on XS.

It will work on the XS so go ahead and get one. Good Luck and HH.

James-question for you that I've been wondering about.---When you were getting those long tones with the new coil--did you have your response set on "normal" or "long"?-----Thanks, Del

I have tried Long but that just makes everything seem too large and I like knowing for sure just how small the Target is, thus using Pinpoint on occassion. I have just started this year doing a circular type swing over where the Target is(something I have learned from Dale) and then just dig without using Pinpoint but will still use Pinpoint on real Deep Targets just to see what the reaction in Pinpoint is. Is it Fluttering, just a blip, or fairly loud? That is what I look for when using Pinpoint and of course how many Targets are present and the Sizes of them. Good Luck and HH.

It is a hot coil. You have to be careful not to pass stuff up because it sounds shallow. While hunting a park Sunday, I got to a very iron infested area and decided to try all metal and ferrous tones. This park has been hit hard. I was shocked to hear a nice solid high tone about six inches from the base of a huge tree. I know there have been a hundred detectorists around that tree (including me). Anyway I dug down about seven inches and found a great 1870 IH! I think it may have been on edge because it was up in the front of the hole a couple inches in. My point is that the signal sounded like a coin at two or three inches - really rang in there. The pinpoint mode (EII) gave the indication that it was deep as did the depth indicator. I am thinking of bumping down my gain setting from 7 to 6 just so I can tell the deep ones better.
Thanks for the info and HH - BF

Good to hear that you found an Old Indian Head that others passed up. This Coil is getting a lot of positive reviews by others and I am glad to see that others are doing well with them. Thanks for the info Big Fang and Good Luck and HH to you.
