Tuesdays Springlike weather was something I had been looking ahead to. With still frozen ground the only thing on my mind was a beach with a different view than the overworked beach I had visited a few times most recently. Partnered up with a friend who consistently finds more than anyone I hunt with, a good detecting partner and we share leads to mutual our benefit. I finally found a little more than him this time, likely due to the coverage and depth I got on the wet salt sand beach. The pile of coins and trash was dumped prior to the photo, I should have flattened or spread it first. There was more trash under my snack wrapper not visible. The 8.9 gram, (5.7 dwt)14K band became visible when I decided to dump and spread some wet sand. I got a huge lift seeing it come to light. I pulled a winged head liberty dime very close to a jetty at low tide. Looking forward to a couple more trips to this spot.

Being outside and not being beat up by the weather was like having your favorite dessert. I just didn't want it to end :bouncy:

Nice hunt Bruce. Price of gold flying up so keep it going.

What are you using for a bungee cord for the weight?

Thanks and HH

Brian

I think it's one of Doc's bungees with V adjuster. The chest strap came from a Lejermon model "S". It is a simple loop over the rights arm with a strap piece that runs across my back and fastens to the chrome ring on my chest. The rest of the Lejermon I didn't like at all.

This set up works easily for me without any added bulk around my torso.

Nice score yt.. good to see that wot paying off.. I might get out this weekend for my 1st hunt of the year if the ground cooperates..

The Bungee cord and clamp sold from Minelab for their heavy gold machines works great..I think i paid about $20 or the complete setup.I have the Bungee from Minelab on 2 of my heavier machines,,especially good for my Sovereign with the WOT Coil...John

Alright Man! :clapping: Thats a good one to start the year off with!:beers: Any ring that fits your thumb is a fantastic find! Good looking rig you got there.

Minelab clamp and bungy cord might just work for me. I normally wear contractors suspenders and a belt so that would hold it. Thank you for posting that. HH

Thanks mudpuppy, it was elation just be able be outside and not get beatup by the weather. Knocking off the first silver and gold for this year was a big bonus. Looking forward getting out Saturday, it should hit 50 degrees here by Sat. afternoon.
