Would the E track

well from what i see some people catch on fast wile others have a hard time learning it.
i was one that couldnt get in my head that minelab wasnt the same as my old brand.
but i did learn it after about 2 months of trying.
so i would say its 50/50 on who picks it up easy and who doesnt

Push the "on" button and take off...................then when you get ready to tweak something, its ready when you are.

I have never used a minelab machine until March 2009 when I purchased the E-Trac. I thought it was easy to learn and very comfortable to use. Your brain conditions itself to recognize those good targets and you long to hear those high flute tones for silver and the lower whump whump tone for gold. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

I think it is like any other detector. You can turn it on and find stuff but to find more of the "good stuff" you will have to do your homework, read the manual, play with the settings, etc. good luck and HH!

when you start out, preferably a large field or even the beach. That will allow your ears to become accustomed to the machine without getting brain overload. :surrender:

You are not going to hear very many discouraging words about the E-Trac on this forum. I have one and am very impressed with it. I think it is very easy to learn and use. You need to tell us more about yourself, for instance how would you rate your physical ability. Are you a small petite woman, you get the idea? The E-Trac can get a little heavy after swinging is say 20-30 minutes just like any other machine. You can get smaller coils and the E-Trac will feel like a feather weight. The last thing any of us what you to do is buy one and then be unhappy because you feel it is too heavy. The learning curve is very fast. Let us know, we are always willing to help.

I am not small by any means but I am weak lol. I'm an older woman. My main detector has been the White's MXT. I also have the White's beach hunter. Sometimes I use the swingy thingy lol when I plan to be out a long time. I find it helps.

...to a Minelab and has told me it was the best decision he ever made.

The best test - if possible, go detect with someone who has an Explorer or ETrac. Go over the same signals before you dig and compare your interpretations. Especially with dime-sized targets over 6 inches deep in trashy areas. Disconnect headphones so you both can hear what the other's audio is singing over the same target.

And ask to try swinging it.

Enjoy!
