I dug a 18" deep hole in a orchard one time and ended up with a water big water line. Nice strong signal. Lol

Do you have a pinpointer or a smaller coil to place into the hole? You may be digging just to the side of something.

YES,I'm gonna try the 5 inch dd coil when I can ,This old yard of mine is full of every kind of trash item......I've dug little folded up pieces of foil 4-5 inches......seems in the 50's everyone was charcoaling and they used foil on the grills or something on bottom...even the old pipe lead is everywhere from the plumbing fittings.........but I'm still looking....old nails car parts old washers......but have found silver cash coin chinese and other goodies.....I'm on the seach,I will let you guys know......I just got a lot to work throught with this brain cancer......but I'm on it when I can ........hh.....God Bless All Of You.........bro.......Dan
