wrought iron range co plate, sign?

Can anyone tell me what this is and what it was made for? I can't imagine how this could have been part of a "Range". If you notice my description of it below, one of the dates for St Louis doesn't make any sense to me because all the other years are that cities world fair. When I found it I thought it was a crumpled oil can until I saw some raised lettering. It was mashed up very badly and I straightened the best I could.

Aluminum plate with a lot of information stamped on it including at least 6 dates all of which are pre-1895.
Top mid center says " California Midwinter International Exposition".

Bottom says "Wrought Iron Range Co. St. Louis".

Lower center says "San Francisco 1894", (world Fair, California Midwinter International Exposition).

Upper left depicts New Orleans 1884 World Cotton Centennial (World Fair).

Upper right depicts St Louis 1889 (NOTE: St Louis did not have a world fair until 1904!???). Although, Paris(not St. Louis) had a world fair in 1889.

Lower left depicts Chicago 1893 World's Columbian Exposition (World Fair).

Lower right depicts Toronto 1895 Industrial Exhibition (World Fair).

I think they are referring to the San Francisco Midwinter International Exposition or Worlds Fare. The Pallas of Fine Arts was part of that and that lable may very well have been attached to a Range. Over the years I have seen many metal detecting finds related to the San Francisco Wrolds Fair. It is not unsual to find related metal detecting fnids outside California.

If you contact the Palace of Fine Arts they might know of have a lead for you to follow, here's the link:

I say it came off of something like this Range, most likely entered into the fair and won. When the company started selling the ranges they sold them with the attached lable.
