WS2 sound verses WS5

Listener

Well-known member
I has been really hot lately for the WS5'S so today I took out the plug in backbones. Right away I noticed a more bass sound using full tones. Just wasn't getting those high tones for the high conductors and the steel bottlecaps. I couldn't get used to the difference so switched to 5 tones and still not as good, so I went back to the WS5'S. Is there that much difference in the impedance to cause that? Anyone with experience out there have an answer on the difference?

With a full cup headphone you hear what your supposed to be hearing and much less from the outside world. There are trade offs of course like comfort in the heat but you will hear more of the faint signals with a full cup. The guys that will post here after me will be telling you that they hear everything with their WS2s but the fact remains that they just don't know what they miss because they never heard it. The WS5s were made for that machine and work very well with it.

Thanks for the response, makes perfect sense. Now that tones can be adjusted higher I will have to do some fiddling to try and get something on the WS5'S that I like better. HH. Jerry.
