I am looking for some metal detecting dvds to watch. If you have any you are done with and want to get rid of at a reasonable price pm me. I am interested in Thomas Dankowskis real world Techniques or just about anything.

I have an autographed copy of Metal detecting DVD "Detecting Adventures II" with Bill Ladd. Amazing DVD. $15.00 shipped to lower 48.

Thanks Silver but I am not looking to buy new. I am assuming yours is new since that dvd is $15.95 shipped new. I want used videos that people are done with and looking to get rid of.

Here are 13 episodes of Treasure Hunting America for free:

Big Boar,

I found tons of videos for free on www.YOUTUBE.com. Just search whatever strikes your fancy, a particular detector, or, generalities, like hunting sidewalks..... http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=detecting+sidewalks&aq=f

.....detecting yards.... http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=detecting+yards&aq=f

detecting relics..... http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=detecting+relics&aq=f

........ detecting coins ...... http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=detecting+coins&aq=f

The search opportunities are endless. I found like a seven or so part series something like the complete guide to metal detecting. Unfortunately, it was in a foreign language, It was sort of like English, only spoken with a British accent. :) It was very, very good. It is here, along with other guides... http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=guide+to+metal+detecting&aq=f

What I did was to get a YOUTUBE downloader and convert software. I converted the "dot".FLV and other files from YouTube, to a format, usually "dot".mpg so that they will play on my DVD player and my larger screen TV. You can watch the files downloaded from YOUTUBE on your computer, but it is neat to see them on a larger screen TV. You can get the software by going to downloads.com and searching YOUTUBE. http://download.cnet.com/1770-20_4-0.html?query=you+tube&platformSelect=Windows&tag=srch&searchtype=downloads&filterName=platform%3DWindows&filter=platform%3DWindows

Each file will tell you if it is FREE, or, if it is shareware that must be purchased after a trial use. I really like PC UTILITIES, PC ADVISOR, and to a NOW, much lesser degree, PC Format and PC PLUS magazines. Especially, with PC UTILITIES, a British mag, available at stores like Barnes and Noble book sellers, they have TONS of free software inside on a DVD Disk. The disk is often glued onto the front of the magazine, just flip the pages and it should have a rather detailed listing of the software on the DVD. I haven't seen PC ADVISOR in a while but it used to be great on providing older full working programs of commerical software that were not trial, nor, demos but full programs. PC PLUS and PC FORMAT were my all time favorite Brit free commerical software mags, but they are both crap now, dealing mostly in demos, and games.

Take a look, the software is out there.

Years ago, I needed software to convert the WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER files that I recorded directly onto my computer from cable. Windows used their own proprietary format, something like DVR-MS,which you could NOT burn to DVD and play on your dvd player connected to your TV. http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sugexp=esqb,ratio&xhr=t&q=windows+media+center+convert&cp=27&qe=d2luZG93cyBtZWRpYSBjZW50ZXIgY29udmVy&qesig=EPUUJrlEztJvG4LF5MD0sQ&pkc=AFgZ2tkv0zfb8Nb3ouNWBMnxd1QJEYShETql2y2F9dDY5GuSc_pgC0lmsnvSn4EYQwRvnIUoXNK5kTV0TJ9Q2HViSCzepSxxjA&pf=p&sclient=psy&source=hp&aq=0&aqi=g4&aql=&oq=windows+media+center+conver&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=4f5d99df8e6c9a1d&biw=1311&bih=539

Although, some of the YOUTUBE download programs at the www.downloads.com link above will convert YOUTUBE files automatically to usable files on your home DVD player, or, after the download, standalone VIDEO CONVERTERS for DVR-MS files and converters for FLV to MPEG, etc... are here... http://download.cnet.com/1770-20_4-0.html?query=convert+dvr-ms&platformSelect=Windows&tag=srch&searchtype=downloads&filterName=platform%3DWindows&filter=platform%3DWindows

I dowloaded a trial years ago, when it was about the only one converting DVR-MS files from Windows Media Center, and bought the paid version of DIGITAL MEDIA CONVERTER PRO... and have NEVER been sorry. It batch converts like a dream into a variety of formats that you choose, from a huge variety of formats. http://download.cnet.com/Digital-Media-Converter-Pro/3000-2194_4-10372005.html?tag=mncol;8

A bit stiff at $50 bucks but it does it all, flawlessly, including IPhone files. Again, by going to downloads dot com, or, in a PC Utilites mag, you will find free software that will probably handle most of your needs.

All the best,

Dex

Thanks Missouri for taking the time to post that! I can connect my laptop into my home theater system(laptop has hdmi out port) and watch them on my big screen but it is a pain to keep getting up and selecting videos. I was thinking about buying a 20 ft hdmi cable so I could keep the laptop next to me so I dont have to keep getting up. Now you have given me another option also.

Big Boar,

I hope that wasn't too convoluted of an answer to your needs. :) I would first start by going to a bookstore like Barnes and Noble and seeing if they have PC UTILITIES magazine. Make sure that someone hasn't ripped off the dvd that is attached to the front cover. Open the mag and glance at the VIDEO section of their list of what is included on the cover disk. See if it has what you need to freely convert, or, download and convert YOU TUBE files to a format that you can burn to dvd and use on your Home Theatre system. Usually, MPEG usually works best.

The mags are about $15.00, but offer a ton of software for a variety of uses from accounting, editing video, games, etc. Then, you are all set to download YOUTUBE videos, and go back regularly to see if there are newly added MD films. Some of these guys have their own "channel" on YOUTUBE, so if you see a video that you like, be sure to click on their name, or, site to see what other videos that they have made.

This is a free downloader that converts the videos automatically. You may try it to see if it meets your needs...

This is a free downloader and converter that was just added this week... not tried it.

Other video downloaders that convert...

This was my FAVORITE, but it would often stop working for me after a few weeks of use.... it may have been my laptop.

You may not need PC UTILLITIES or PC ADVISOR magazine this time, but if you get a chance, pick them up at the newsstand to see what I mean about all the software for free.

Good luck to you...
