X-12 coil verses 10x12 SEF ...

Willee - Texas

From a field test I read a few days ago the Sun Ray X-12 coil outperformed the 10x12 SEF.
Anyone used them both and have an opinion?

I have used both and like them both. What areas did one do better than the other in said test?It is very hard to find an unbiased test unless you do one for yourself and then you need multiple coils from both manufacturers to reach a fair conclusion.Case in point is the first sef 12x10 I used when they first hit our shores.I hated it and would have preferred about any other coil over it.However it came to light later on that it was a faulty coil. The one I have and use now will hold its own against any other coil of similar size in my experience except it is a bit heavy,Ray.

My pro coil outperforms my 10x12 SEF in my coin garden - but i have heard many others say they prefer the 10x12 over the pro. i use my pro coil for those type applications. my best coil for most applications is a sunray x-8. i think sun ray makes a great coil.

I got a bad one also Ray. I'm not saying the Sun-Ray is better but I would'nt trade my X-12 for nothing out there right now. HH :minelab:
