Since it's not waterproof, it offers nothing over the 10.5" other than rather miniscule weight savings. As far as Randy's preferece for a soild coil, so as not to get hung up in brush/stubble? Easy. Just offer an accessory solid coil cover. If it doesn't go as deep as the 10.5", and the separation capability isn't remarkably better, and they have a high trash killer 6"DD which is waterproof, why bother with a 5x10? I can't for the life of me understand why MineLab felt the need to bridge such a narrow gap, especially when there are other coils that need designing for the X-Terra.
