I watch videos all the time about the etrac it seems to be one of the best out there..

The 705 is a great detector but common sense should tell you there probably is a good reason why the E-Trac is so popular over the others. Really do you think people just don't know any better and you can get the same performance without spending more money? If I really believed I could get the same performance for hundreds less you can bet I'd buy it and I'm sure most would.
Not putting the 705 down at all just pointing out the obvious.
The explanation is really quite simple. People see the results of users with the E-Trac and try it. When they get better results than what they previously had they become believers. But, the fact is that it is a different technology, one that employs multiple frequencies making it a more universally able machine regardless of conditions. Whereas with the Xterra you need to understand your conditions and set it up accordingly. Part of the E-Trac's success is due to it's search frequencies spanning from 2.5kHz to 100kHz. Silver responds best to 2.7kHz, so the E-Trac earns a reputation as a silver slayer. But at the same time the Xterra running a 3kHz coil can and does just as well under normal conditions.Southwind said:I watch videos all the time about the etrac it seems to be one of the best out there..
