XChange 2 Software Question

Does anyone know what "Unlock movement" and "Lock movement" does in the Minelab XChange 2 software? They show up when you click on a Findpoint. Each click toggles between Unlock movement and Lock movement. I'm guessing that this is a way to protect you from moving a Findpoint, but I can't find any documentation on it.

The ability to unlock and move your FP or WP can be useful in certain situations. If, doing research, you have found an area on a map that you want to go the field and check out, by creating a WP in Google Map, you can then move it to the approximate location of the site. You could create multiple WPs for making an "area" that you want to detect inside of or just one or two WPs for "center" of areas. Once you have set the WPs where you want them in Google Map and named them appropriately, you will have Lat and Lon information for the WPs that can then be put into the CTX for going to the area in the field.

As far as moving FPs. Say you have some items you found in the past, but didn't have any GPS info on them. However, you can look at Google Map and you know approximately where you found the items. Scan them in your yard or wherever, just to get the item "into the CTX". Then download the FPs of the items to XChange2. Once they in there, you can open them up, unlock movement and then move to the correct location in Google Map. Another way to do this is to scan the item and download to XChange2. Then go into Google Earth, or something that will give Lat and Lon info, and acquire the correct coordinates for your find locations. Then open the FPs and edit the Lat and Lon info. for the correct location.

Adding unrecorded finds to the Collection helps complete your record keeping of finds "in an area" if that is what you desire. I always make a note for myself in the FP note field that the item was bench scanned. The location may be relatively accurate, but the other recorded info. won't be, such as depth etc.

I have been recording my hunts and then transferring them to a collection folder in the exchange 2 software. While this picture is the whole collection folder of specific location you can narrow them down individually. While transferring back to the CTX you can only store 10 or so trails. It's obvious where I have been concentrating on certain areas and areas I've not gone. While helpful in general the exchange 2 software is a bit crude in mapping features. Am I missing some functions of exchange2? I've just started recording find points for documentation and such. Also you have to be logged in for the mapping feature to work. Is this info being shared??

sorry for the pic I had to take with my iPhone as I am a mac snob.
