XP MI 6 probe

Had to remove the thin o ring sat in the threads, end cap really hard to remove to gain access to charging port, this time I could feel the body flexing. No idea what it was doing to the internals so when I finally got the cap off, o ring had to go.
Have I got a bad one or have others found the same.

It is not the best configuration there is
The pinpointer works great but the end cap must have been made with a warped die or something. Mine never sat flush once screwed down and always looked as if it was cross threaded

Use ONLY 'O' ring grease [available at any dive shop] or silicone dielectric grease.

Any other will cause the O ring to deteriorate

I had the same problem (cap not closing evenly over the pinpointer body) with my XP MI-4, but got the cap to close properly by applying a light coating of olive oil over the O ring. After I did this, it closed tightly. I opened and closed the cap one more time, and this time, it closed very securely.

Never had a problem with mine 3 years old works great
