Xterra 705 ??

I am thinking about getting a 705 should I get the Gold Pack or the standard I will be coin and relic hunting and will be adding coils like the 10.5dd and the 6in by coiltek. I will be deciding between this and the MXT All Pro. What should I do and why? And how well is the gold pack coil gonna be for general all around hunting until I get the other coils?

Get the 705. Probably better off with the standard pack for coin hunting. Could be wrong, but its what I would buy.
I know very little about the MXT pro. I'm sure its a great machine but when I see that big box on the end holding all those batteries, it makes my arm ache.

Shop around and get the one that comes with two (2) coils.

Welcome to the Xterra forum TnnTyrant!

Be sure to check out the FAQFAQ pinned thread near the top of out forum page. You'll find links that will be very useful there.

Once Call Bart at Big Boy Hobbies, he will set you up with the right machine. He has the experience and won't lead you a stray.

If you think you will eventually get the 10.5" HF then you may want to get the concentric coil. If you think you'll buy a 10.5" MF coil then I would say the gold pack would be the better choice.

I find myself using either of the 10.5" coils depending of the soil conditions or the 6" Coiltek coil. Most of the time it's the 6" coil unless I'm somewhere that I want to cover a lot of ground a little faster than I can with the Coiltek.

Have fun!

I have never used the pro but I had a mxt. They are both good machines. If you buy the 705 I would go with the 9 inch coil.

IMO the Gold Pack is the better value, if for no other reason than if you decide that the 5x10" HF coils isn't what you want it can be sold for more than the 9" MF.

I too would recommend the gold pack .... the 9" concentric coil isn't very good in trashy area's

Go gold pack

I had the gold pack and found some nice silver coins and a couple huge silver rings before I sold the coil and got the 6in Digger.
You won't go wrong whichever way you decide.

I too would go with the Gold pack
Good hunting
