First off Elson has a 8000 watt generator not a 8000 KW which would run a small town lol. All you have to do is go to the hardware store and pick up some 10/3 wire and a plug that fits your 220 outlet on your generator. Hook up the wires correctly to the plug per directions and then take the wires on the other end and wire to a 30amp breaker in your main panel and then the ground wire to the main ground bar. Turn off your main switch box so if the power comes on while you have the generator running it won't burn your house down. Very simple and takes about a half hour to do. Don't back feed into an outlet because your asking for trouble especially with old houses. Wire directly into the box so everything is on a breaker. Don't chance it, do it right. An 8000 watt will run your stove, furnace, fridge, freezer, well pump and lights.
