To me the crystal form looks more like calcite than quartz. However the uniformity of color and the transparency seem a little too good for iron colored calcite.
There's almost no quartz in Florida but calcite is not uncommon.
I wonder if the rock is an erratic, washed up from a shipwreck, dropped by a beachgoer, or ??? If the rock seems unusually heavy for its size it is neither quartz nor calcite.
You can probably get a definitive answer by taking it to a rockhounding club meeting. If it's not an erratic, local folks will recognize what it is. If it is an erratic, it'll provoke interest and one or more club smartypants will rise to the challenge and get it figured out.
