...when you find a silver half. I hunted a 1922 church in town today for a few hours. The half gave a dime reading (79 vdi) at 3". I was expecting a new dime. It was down at 4" on edge. I have hunted the property before. Last Monday I got the two silver dimes. A 1944 Mercury and a 1948-S Roosevelt.

Lots of trash so I hunted in the High Trash mode and bumped up the Disc and All Metal. So far have found 8 silver coins there, but finds are getting sparse.

Silver is always good but BIG silver is great.......:clapping:

Great finds.

Bumping up the Disc I can see. Unless you are hunting in mixed or all metal mode I don't think bumping the all metal is needed. Your finds don't seem that deep. Increasing your all metal will increase pin point depth but will also make shallow targets harder to pin point.

The All Metal is default at 55 so I bumped it up to 70. The dimes were at 6" and pinpointed fine. The shallow coins were loud, but I just raised the coil.

I also run my AM high for pinpointing the deep targets, but I use the manual ratchet when pinpointing shallow targets. Just click the trigger a couple of times when pinpointing and the field will narrow right down for a precise PP.

Nice finds, I have yet to find a Benjamin Franklin half myself..every little piece of silver is such a nice sparkly addition to a fun day.
