has anyone ever used these and if so can you explain how they go on the machine does it spray on shrink fit ? and are they worth the moneys

i got one of those screen protectors. its a thin film of plastic that's allready cut to fit. alls you do is soak it real good with the spray they give ya and stick it on the screen. be carful to squeeze all the air bubbles out befor it dries. its not to hard. it protects good but dont cut any of the glare out. a little pricey too, for all you get.

I ordered one on the 21st of May and am still waiting. I've heard nothing but good about them and am very impatient about getting it on the machine. I email the company and they told me they had a unforseen circumstance that arose.

I was the guinea pig for the E-trac cover design. I had to send my E-trac to them to get the design.

I can say that I really love the coating. It is easy to install and come with directions.

I have no problem with glare or scratching and the E-trac cleans up much quicker not having to worry about scratching the screen.

I don't worry about wet sand on the screen.

You know how older plastic screen machines look after a few times out...buttons look worn....screen with scratches....not with this stuff.

I recommend it highly.

PS...........I own no stock in that company and I make no money from sales of that product.

That's unfortunate that it's taking so long to arrive. I ordered one for my detector and my 3G phone (separate orders), each took about 5 business days.

I've got one for my E-trac. Definitely worth the money to me. The detector screen scratches easily and you have to be careful. However with the screen protector I don't worry. I put it on about two months ago and it's doing fine. The screen is still pristine - crystal clear with no scratches at all. I wouldn't say the screen protector is a "must have" necessity. It's just nice to have.

Several friends have them on their Explorer's and E-Trac's and they all seem very happy with theirs. I was hunting with one of them today where the sun / clouds made it almost impossible to read my screen through the weather cover and he had no problem at all with his E-Trac. It is pretty amazing stuff as you showed me how wiping his dirt-covered finger across the screen left not one trace at all . . . and without the cover, the screen is much easier to read in all light conditions.

With that you may ask why I do not have mine covered with it? Well, I actually have the kit on the kitchen counter - got it a few weeks ago - and after seeing my buddy's again today, am planning on putting it on this evening.

As far as taking it off, I understand that it can be removed without damaging the detector face itself if desired.

Well,
I finally got my $@&& protector in the mail on June 8th after I had ordered it on the 21st of May and got the screen protector part on. They had a deal for $2 more where you got the outer protection so I decided what the heck and went for it. Does anyone have the housing protection on theirs and if so what goes where?

No real problem putting it on, but I did use nearly the whole bottle of activator. Is that just distilled water in there?

DJH,

From reading their instructions online, they say that you can refill the bottle up to two times with tap water and it will retain enough active ingredients to allow you to continue to apply the cover.

To answer an earlier question, once removed, the cover cannot be reapplied, according to the website. But it does remove cleanly.

I love my screen protector. I think it was worth the money.

u guys arent talking about the Zagg invisibleSHIELD are you? because i ordered mine, got it within the week and applied it with no problem, took all of two minutes, squeegee/ed the solution out with the supplied tool and there it sits as perfect as could be. it cuts the glare and protects the face from small impacts and ALL scratches.https://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/minelab-explorer-se-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php

I think the reason for the delay was that they had made some that were too large for the E-trac. I have gotten three of them and a friend has one and they work as described except there is still a glare on the screen but the product never advertised there would be less glare either. If the screen protector is larger than the surface area of your screen by about a 1/4" all the way around you got the bad one. When I got my second one it was wrong so they replaced it for free. Worth every penny IMHO.

Just don't say their name on here? I don't know why but it has been this way for some time?

HH,

Dave

If you post the company name it will be garbled. They are not advertisers on Findmall and so the owners of the site have a policy of not giving free advertising, which is a good policy in my opinion.

That being said, It is easy to install and it really does work well. My E-trac was the first in the world to have it on and I have had it on longer than anyone else in the world. I sent my E-trac to the company and they used it as a template to design the cover for it.

I can say that my E-trac has taken a lot of abuse...wet sand, mud, dirt and dust. All I do is take a wet rag and wipe it off. Along with the handle wrap, (a tennis racket wrap) the E-trac is now so easy to clean up after a long day out. I don't have to worry about scratches and it looks as good as the day I got it. I figure it is a great investment in the protection of the E-trac. I can't say enough about how much I love this product.

Then by what I am hearing when I order my two months ago, I received the wrong one. Mine was about 1/4in larger than the screen except for around the handle. I still like it except when I put my ML control box cover on. The two clear coverings stuck together constantly and several times pull the protective covering off of the screen and cause a bubble that would not go away. Just my two cents worth. EddieB

Eddie, mine was like yours, about 1/4" too big all around except for around the handle like you mentioned.

After installation, I took a single edged razor blade an trimmed off the excess for a nice custom fit.

I've had no problems and am very pleased with it.

zee a gee gee dot com should get you to the web site.there are multiple applications. My two minelabs, PDA, and cell phone all have one of these. They work great on scratch prevention.

When the bubble pulled up on mine, I had to remove it. Maybe it was something about my Minelab cover that didn't like to be in contact with the protective cover, but anyway, I removed mine. I have a hard time understanding why they couldn't get a perfect fit since they had the Etrac right in front of them. Oh well. Nothing lost. HH EddieB
