Depth Bug on the new version

Trashfinder

Active member
Updated my machine and took it out for an hour hunt today. After digging 10 plus targets i found the depth bar to be useless. Everything was showing 3 plus bars and the targets were modern clad and some as shallow as 1 inch and nothing deeper than 2.5 inches. I also found some targets where the machine was showing max bars and the targets were no deeper than 4 inches. Three of these were modern clad quarters. I will say the ID on all targets was just as good as before i updated. Just to clarify all these targets were coins, all clad. I hope they can get this resolved or somehow that i can go back to version 1.7.5. I wish i had not done the update now.

So go back and reload your favorite version...no biggie.
From the 2.0 update website...I assume the newest update page will tell you the same.

Q: What happens if I want to downgrade back to the old version?
A: The latest released MUU contains all released versions of EQUINOX software – to downgrade, click on the three dots in the bottom right of the MUU screen, select the version you want to downgrade to, and click install.

Don't be afraid to uninstall this update and try a re-install. The 1st update minelab released had some people doing this.

Also I highly recommend doing a factory reset on the machine before any installs!

you might think about lowering the sensitivity before you go back to old version. I’m guessing the unity is just more sensitive.
pinpointing has never been good. Target size makes a big differance.
The processor is probably just more sensitive and that is why it is doing so well compared to top other brands.

It’s definitely more sensitive with the new update in 4Khz anyway coins hit hard and ID numbers are solid But it also makes low conducive targets scream anyway in what I’ve tried field 2

If you are not hunting for deep targets like in fields it might be a good ides to lower the sensitivity some.
Most of my hunt is below 20. If I’m on a beach with low trash I’ll run it as high as I can.
If your in a high trash area and and hight sensitivity you will gave beeping in your sleep. lol

Now that i know i can go back and forth i might give the new version another shot at some point in time. But not soon.

I went back to 1.7.5 and my depths are spot on again!! I also have feedback from friends who have updated and they are telling me the same thing, that the depth bars are way off on the new update. I know that doesn't mean a lot to some, that the depth with new update is off but to me it was a vital part of my decision making process to dig or not to dig in some of my sites.
