Back to the big park back to back SLQ’s with dates!

It’s been in the mid 40’s so the park was thawed pretty good and I setup my Nox in field 2 recovery 7.
I have no problem in 7 hitting deep targets this spot is probably 50x50 right next to the bathrooms..My first signal turned out to be a war nickel good start then I worked a area near a pine tree and had a faint deep high tone which I dug up a rusty nail that could not have been it scanned the hole again a nice 30 moved the dirt a very dark clad quarter hey wait that’s a SLQ! Lol I pulled another right by the first then a 1924 mercury,
By this time I called my friend over and setup his detector as mine was and within 10 minutes he pulls his first walker half! A 1928 I found a few wheats and some clad a old buckle also the SLQ’s
has to be a first finding two back to back with dates1922 and 1929.
A good 2.5 hour hunt park closes at 5

Thanks everyone It’s not a easy spot lots of rusty nails probably why these coins were missed especially the SLQ’s
Though on the side of the big parking lot is a big steep hill in old photos over 100 years ago there were no trees so I decided it was probably a good play area I was right lots of wheat and some silver I use some old maps to check old areas ..,

Yep I was running recovery 7 seems like the magic number for me and I’ve dug some very deep coins using 7 good luck on those new spots I’ll be out along the Ct river this year can’t wait…

Small world , I'm fairly close to the Ct. river in MA. I will be doing some mud larking this summer. I mostly detect old home sites and farmland. At the Cape right now , going to swing some beaches on the bay side with my wife. Celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. I will probably try recovery 7 when i go back into the woods in a few weeks. Snowing right now. We are in N.Truro ..

I’m at the mouth of the Ct river had some great finds but access is limited so I bought a small skiff to get to all these untapped areas

Thanks Steve finds sometimes really surprise me especially these they were masked badly with iron but you need to circle around these signals to really hear well from other angles,

Sounds like you are taking your time picking thru the iron infestation , people with less patience or experience will easily get discouraged in that situation. I had to train myself to slow down , listen for subtle tone changes and I also toggle between all metal and whatever program I'm using to help distinguish some of the differences. Good job in that park , the more you go the more you know !!! Never been to the mouth of the CT. river where it empties into the sound. Think about how much traffic has been on and around the river in the past 300 plus years. Good luck out there , HH

Thanks That’s exactly what I’m doing recovery 7 going slow and different directions and a nice coil sweep like I said the SLQ’s were inches apart and had very rusty nails with the most may have gone over them which is probably what happened over the years
