Manticore coil screw

The Minelab website shows the lower rod has a clevis end, not the coil, and the washers are on the coil. They show 2 round washers, not the tear drop shape of the Equinox. Teflon tape sounds like a good idea as does shims under the washers.

Maybe go to a good hardware store.
Find some softer rubber washers.
Thin and thick.
Possibly find the right thickness.
Or very thin ones and stuff in next to the factory washer.
Take the lower shaft and coil with you for sizing.
Good Luck

I saw on another forum the answer. The clevis on the lower rod is threaded on one side. It was on this side that the poster installed the bolt. It didn't work because it wouldn't pull the other side of the clevis, When he switched it to the other side, then it pulled the clevis together, solving the problem.

Still works it way loose.----Like I said: wrap some teflon tape around the coil bolt---problem solved.

One side of the lower rod has a hole on one side that the bolt can slip through, the other is threaded like a nut so it doesn't need a separate one. My Vanquish is similar except the "clevis" is on the coil instead of on the lower rod. If you start the bolt from the wrong side, it won't tighten against the coil.

I used teflon plumber's tape on my 800 coil bolt. It worked perfectly. My Elite coil bolt would slowly loosen. I solved that problem by making a rubber washer out of a piece of bicycle inner tube (nice thin rubber). I used a quarter to cut out the circle then used a leather punch to create the center hole. Works perfectly. Obviously, the rubber washer goes on the coil bolt so it's between the bolt head and the coil ear.

Manitcore coils don't use ears, they use a solid block. The ears are on the lower rod. No more ears breaking on the expensive coil. If they break on the rod, it is much less expensive to replace. The user didn't need plumber's tap or thicker washers, just needed to stick the bolt through the other side of the lower rod "ears". He noted the problem was solved.
